Well Hello There,
The girls finally reached their respective harvest dates and I finally made the chop! I left the grow room dark for the last three days to try and induce some purple colouring and get some resin flowing. I noticed no difference in either plant. This is maybe because the plants are still too young, or maybe the room wasnt totally dark enough. meh. Both girls were still green, so would be interesting to keep them growing, but alas I need their smoke and can't wait any longer.
Anyway, I broke the buds down into small/medium/large sizes but still broke down the main cola a bit on plant 'A' to a weight of 30g. I feel like I mutilated the trimming process, but I did get about 15g of dried trim to make some form of hash, prolly QWISO as that seems rather easy.
I decided to use the 'paper bag' drying method after reading a bunch of posts on AFN and other sites. The drying process is still going, the smaller buds are currently ~ 70-75% after 5 days in the closet @ 45% rh. I'm expect to start jarring tomorrow.
***One important thing to note.... The drying process seems to be much smellier than the growing process. I am using a small ionic breeze type thing that worked well during the grow to mask smell, but it is doing jack shit versus the waves of pot odor emanating from the closet. I will definitely need to use a carbon filter of some sort for the next grow.
Total harvest weights:
Plant 'A' - 302.6g wet
Plant 'B' - 176.7g wet
Plant 'B' total weight is 40.7g after 5 days of drying, didnt weigh plant 'A' and both need another 12-24 hours at least before jarring.
So here's a few bad pics of the girls getting cut up. I smoked the resin scraped off my shears and fell asleep I think. I'll post the final dry weights in another couple of days along with a preliminary smoke report hopefully :head:

Lastly, the light is bright. This grow was LED only, aside from the first week under CFL. I removed the CFL to really show what this light could do being used by a newb such as myself. I'm happy with it and the spectrum. I paid less than $225 for the light by waking up early for many mornings and bidding on many auctions till one lazy sunday everyone else finally forgot to wake up! I'm going to try it again in a few weeks and probably add a few fun additions.
Anyhow, enough for now. Gotta get them jars washed and sanitized!
Thanks again AFN!
