This is a couple of days on with the LST’ing on the automatic and the SAS:
The SAS is stretching a bit and looks bigger and the automatic is healthier overall and setting herself up to branch-out some decent main stems.
At this stage I like to be brave and amputate the occasional underside node that isn’t getting light or will just be in the way later on, which I’ve done with the automatic today, and yesterday I tied-down the SAS side stems which are now turning up towards towards the light again and each will produce at least two other good stems themselves.
You’ll see red circles where new nodes are developing and as these are trained they’ll get a lot more light than they would have had otherwise and will get stronger, fatter and more cola-like over time, rather than just underdeveloped lower twigs.
Enjoy. I’ll keep training them for about another week but a lot can change in that time.
