Good morning gardeners!!!
It's almost sad that I have completed my first grow! The time seemed to simultaneously crawl and fly by. I never thought I would get such a kick out of writing this journal either. I think that, truly, the responses I received from this community along with the help, that made the grow and my journal possible. Thanks to all, really, thank you so much. I will try to break out the photo gear and get some bud shots to wrap it all up.
In summation it was a great grow, I learned soo so much about it and developed some techniques and found out that I still have a lot to learn! I need to work on lighting, don't have that down at all. The LED makes me wary, I think it was a bit to strong. Watering is still a bit of an issue, I think I over compensated and did not offer them enough when the were growing. Need to water to a good runoff each time so as to avoid salt buildup in the soil. Need to gauge better when to start flushing. I think I started a week maybe two early on both plants. They looked good but I think I could have done better with that. I tried to gauge by the trichomes, but these did not go as amber as I thought they would. I was looking for a heavy, body effect, hence waiting for amber. Need to be more organized too, a bit messy and careless here and there, no reason for that. Should have a method to my madness. Odor control... Missed that boat! The critical cheese was very strong, drove my wife crazy, even I could smell it now and then. I had a 6" x14" carbon folter negative pressure in the tent, Ona bucket and ozone and yet I had to add another 6x14 filter to it and it just about did the job! Oh well that will be moot once my room is built.
On a more positive note, two of the three were wonderful and the other one was quite nice. CC and one of the BDM grew into big plants with nice tight buds and the other BDM grew nicely but compared to the others it was a bit loose and airy. They were all very frosty with tons of trichomes I did not expect that! And potent, at least to me they are!! Wow, been steady at least once a day for a few weeks now and it still knocks me for a loop after two or three passes at the vaporizer. I bought a nice little meerschaum pipe for smoking and smoke reports, put a top from BDM in there, whoa, saw things...
Also very notable is the medicinal track. One of the reasons I started this journey was to reduce my dependance on pharma. I am quite surprised at this, pleasantly so but none the less... Due to a torn rotator cuff, use of one of my shoulders has been limited and the constant pain, well you know. I have been able to almost eliminate ibuprofen! I was taking 800mg TID for so long I cannot remember, that's 12 pills a day! I now take 2 pills like every third day usually in the middle of the night, prolly from sleeping on it in a bad position. The other I have been able to reduce and two times eliminate is the ambien. I was taking at least one, a lot of time one and a half and sometimes two of these things so I could get a decent nights sleep! When the dosage was high I would do weird shit according to my wife. Now I use the vaporizer about an hour or so befor bed and have been able to get a better nights sleep with a half a pill and two time with none!! This is a real positive trend!! Still have a bunch of stuff, blood pressure, diabetes, among them, but the RSO is a ways away yet. So all things in good time.
