Grow Mediums Muddy's Hydro Setup

All my friends think I am a conservative.

I hate deficit spending by the government.
I own guns
I support the troops.
I believe in student loans.
I support small business.
I detest exporting our jobs and factories off shore.

My conservative friends think I'm a liberal

I support healthcare.
I support a woman's right to choose.
I want to legalize marijuana
I want to print money at the same rate as the USA and peg it there and use the money to pay off our debt.
I want to give free education to anyone willing to practise medicine as long as the promise to practise for ten years in remote areas to pay of their education.

I just don't know what that makes me but here in Canada I vote NDP

I thought you were the liberal and I was the conservative? :buds:

My indoor grows are all in 5 inch net pots I love them. I get some root tangle in the big bubbly tank so I got to take some of the roots off when I move them to the flush tote. I veg em in totes also and I don't have a problem moving them from the totes to the bubbly tank to flower.

my experience with net pots... dont try it... once the roots lock in on a pot... kiss it goodbye... but i always worked with smaller ones 1.5 - 2in.. maybe largers wont have the same amount of this issues... but my guess is they will. :2cents:

Thast is exactly what I do to. Now and then I find a particularly nice speciman that I want to breed and I just plant it in half coco and half pro mix pot and all seems to work fine.

Ones that small for veg you might just take the smaller pot, put it into the larger pot and route some of the roots through the holes and then fill it with hydroton. Thats what I would do. I do that with coco all the time.

Thanks TMM, that sounds like a good idea. My veg room is a little tight and vegging in the smaller pots will save me a good bit of room.

Hey Muddy why not build a 30' X 60' growing conplex with ten foot high ceilings. With special rooms for breeding, flowering, vegging and cloning.

IME it takes 6 or even 8 BS 240 to replace 2 -1000w hps but for my cold climate I need the 1000w for heat.. The 1000w hps and 4 BS 240 are heating my room to 75f and it stays around 60f at off time...12/12...

yea, it takes a 111w to keep my 4x8 tent at 75 with lights on, bare bulb. Gets to 54-55 at lights off. sucks. 8 degrees outside while I write this.

A couple more questions, one is on net pots. Is it advisable, or even possible, to easily go from a smaller sized one in veg to a larger one for flowering? The UC system uses 8" net pots and I'm looking at a veg system that uses 3.75" ones.

Chillers, can they support multiple reservoirs? I'd rather buy a little bigger one that will support both the veg and flower systems, rather than smaller ones for both.

Hi muddy i've used 3.75" net pots and then transplanted them into 8" pots with no trouble at all just put a layer of pebbles in the bottom of the 8" pot and carefully ease the roots down on top of em and refill don't try to take the plants out of the 3.75" pots or you'll damage the roots too much

Ya! That's just about the size of the house. I could gut it and go live in the garage. :D
