Now that I'm retired I finally have time to work on my long awaited hydro room. The walls are framed out and the flooring is down. Next up is insulating, finishing the walls, then water and electric.

I've not grown hydro before so a lot of this is new to me. I've done a lot of research and looked at quite a few systems. At first I was leaning toward an aero system but since have come to like the Current Culture under current systems, which are recirculating DWC. Their 8 unit UC8XL is a good fit for my area.

The Under Current ™ XL Includes

8 gallon "Blackout Series" growth modules, 2" manifold, 2” Uni Seals, CCH2O 8" custom molded Lids with Port Hole, CCH2O 8" custom molded Net Pots, Danner Mag-Drive™ Return Pump, Air Force Pro™ Air Pump, 9” Air Diffuser Disc, Medium Round Air Stones, Air Distribution Manifold, Air Hose, In-Line Filter, Adjustable Float Valve with Reservoir Adapter Kit, Drain Valve, Chiller Adapter, Garden Hose Drain Adapter, Cultured Solutions™ VEG A/B and 1-Year Warranty.

For a chiller I'm looking at an Active Aqua 1/10 hp chiller. Lighting was going to be two 16 bulb Quantum Bad Boys but the money may be available now for LEDs. Water will be RO. Nutrients will probably be AN pH Perfect, at least to start with. I'll have enough other things to worry about the first grow. Ventilation will be a two fold system. An internal circulation system with carbon filter on a variable speed controller and external intake/exhaust system with carbon filter on a timer. Down the road I'll likely add CO2.

My veg area will have room for totes on the floor for veg plants with shelves above for mothers and clones. I'm looking at two of the Blackstar veg lights for the plants but could use some suggestions on what I need for the mothers and clones.

Take a look and give me your thoughts. I still have a few weeks before I have to make any final decisions on the equipment so can still change my mind if anyone has better ideas.

How about some fish in the current culture so you nver have to leave the grow room..

By the way my most prized album (remember those) is Muddy Waters at the 59 Newport jazz festival.

Not only one of the first live recorded concerts but the fests were cancelled that year due to race riots. Muddy was one of the few to play.

:peace:

Fak Muddy! You are so well studied dude.. Hydro is easy to set up and even EZ'er to fak up once started.. I hope that if I ever have a real problem (going areo soon) that you will be the one to answer my 911 calls. How the frak does a place this nice even exist on the INTERNET..

I've heard good things about them from a couple people over at Bubbleponics. Not many documented grows with them around.

Could throw a few croppies in the RO holding tank. :smoke:

Sure do, I've got a thousand of them lined up in the den. London Sessions is my favorite. That and Fathers and Sons. Newport was great.
