What do you all think is the most important thing to do when growing autos @ seedling stage?

I've grown 2 before, one was 1 foot.
One was 4 inches rofl.

I think I messed up because or watering. Then maybe not enough light.

Anyone feel over/under watering is main cause of stunted autos?

I've got a few going now for practice, in soil, seems to be doing better than my first 2 attempts so far but idk

Over watering is often an issue new growers have.. But stunting them to that degree is most likely not an over watering issue. I mean, over watering is an easy fix.. Just let the pot dry before watering again.. Shouldn't stunt the plants THAT much. I think a bigger problem with new growers is choosing quality genetics.. If I plant ends up 12 inches tall, or 4 inches tall, I'd say that was a genetic issue. That's based on me assuming that everything else is up to par... Like temps, lighting, soil ph ect.. Who is the breeder of the seeds you're growing?

give us a few more details like the light used and what proh mentioned hard to get a good idea without the full picture

Used f series strip build,
Exotic seeds was 12 in. Auto Russian
Expert seeds was 4 in. Blue cheese
I'm sure I fucked up some where.
The 12 in I plant straight into a 3 gallon
The 4 inch was in solo transplanted into 1 gallon.
In defense of the 12 inch plant, I got almost an ounce lol

how many watts is that strip light running never messed with exotic or expert dont think iv even seen some grown so no help there but im going to say it was a genetic thing the plants you did not transplant did ok considering but the one you did probably got stressed from the trans so that would explain it not doing anything if the plants you have now are looking ok id keep going the way you are just being careful of over watering the soil i recommend getting to know the weight of the pot dry and wet to know when and how much to water and next time its you are getting some seeds treat yourself to some dutch passion / mephisto genetics / dinafem or seed stockers all geat quality genetics of course i could be wrong but thats my thoughts on the situation

I truly think it was user error.
On a side note.

Ive got some cosmic bomb auto seeds going, they look great, I forgot when I planted them, I think maybe a little under 3 weeks, I'll get pictures tomorrow. Ive had slowed growth over all in my tent, it's running 78-82 degrees. I turned off exhaust, everything experienced explosive growth. At 84+
