Grow Mediums Mom's Autocob, Autoflower, Autopot Grow

Hi hon! that is another issue in my house, low humidity. Im fighting battles from ALL sides, LOL. Temps were hitting 85 so I set up my 4x4x8 tent downstairs in the cellar (all by myself, eeeeh gads..THAT would have been a great americas funniest video submission, you should have seen me) broke down the 4x3x6 and moved the ladies into their new "big girls condo". I attempted to set up my 6" carbon filter and fan but the damn thing was so heavy and looked like something off the space shuttle. I just couldnt do it by myself. bummer. So I ended up just putting in my old 4" one. Holy moly.... Im pooped!:eek1:

Thanks everyone for coming and giving such kind words of support!

:welcome::thanks:

Hi Mom:
When I built my new grow room all by myself the framing was so wobbly I put a hard hat on. I was 70% sure it was going to fall on my head and kill me before I could get the cross members secured. It didn't and the room is a big success. You can check it out here. Since I work alone most of the time I have learned a few tricks about lifting my exhaust fans into place. First of all do it one piece at a time and use 2 velcro straps long enough to go around the frame and the fan held on a stool or ladder or whatever you can fit in the tent. Then you can work the fan up into place by raising the straps alternately a few inches at a time. then do the same for the carbon filter or wait for help!

It is much easier for me to add humidity than it is to remove it. I use an inexpensive ultrasonic humidifier from Walmart. I usually only need to run it for a week or two when the girls are just babies.

Bigger yields will come with experience; concentrate on watching how the plant grows. You will use that knowledge in your next grow when you start training your plants. This is where bigger yields come from, Manifolding, topping, fiming, SOG and SCROG are all techniques for coaxing better yields out of your plants. It is important to understand how an untrained plant grows before you move on to these more advanced methods.

I know you will be a good farmer because you are motivated and not afraid of the hard work needed to succeed. For me it has always been PATIENTS as my weakness. They just grow too damn slow when you are looking at them 20 times a day :funny::funny::funny:.

Make sure to provide insulation under the pots if the tent is on the basement floor. The concrete will get very cold in winter. This will stunt the roots and plants. I use the rigid foam insulation you can get at the hardware store. Its easy to cut and handle.

You can just put the insulation inside the tent on the floor.

yes, its like i want to do it all at once and get the best plants and yields. LST,TOP, FIM, LOLLYPOP, PONYTAIL, OH MY!!! I need to know how a plant grows before I can start to manipulate it. OMG, the days are going by so slow!!

:help:

Seedlings can withstand temperatures of 80-82 F easy, if there is sufficient RH in the tent :2cents:.

In my indoor setup in the winter i grow in adverse conditions....temps are excellent at 80-82F. RH in my space in the winter is an astonishing 20-25%, but yet the plants seem to grow just fine, as long as i tell them when they start that they will be living in a cool desert environment! ;)

hear ya about the harvest thing, still struggling here
its like i follow hansbricks, or 2stoned, or TanG....and omg they just rock it AND make it seem so easy. I set to high standards for myself, i need to remember i am just a new grasshopper, I need to put the horse in front of the cart and just slowwwwwwwww down. Good people here on AFN who support each-other, encourage each-other and also are not afraid to put it out there that they mess up, or they are nervous....makes me feel better.

Give it a couple of grows.....you will be pulling monsters before too long!! I prefer to grow miniature monsters under lights indoors in my small cramped space(using 2 of the same lights as you are!! Galaxy and Mars Hydro 100X3W)
