ouch, i have no root control disks for this grow. I notice the coco comes out of the bottom of the pots a little...should I get some ladies nylons or something to put around the bases of the pots? Im afraid when watering the coco will come out and clog lines or cause a mess? I would use landscape fabric, but massachusetts/december/finding landscape fabric dont mix!

I just went through the same dillima. The root control disks have a copper layer on one side, it is supposed to control the root growth. Is this really necessary?!?! Can you just use any ol' piece of garden barrier instead? The copper coating seems to be a proprietary thing that autopot does, I've not been able to source similar weed barrier anywhere. A roll of weed fabric costs about the same as four root control disks and you could cut out probably 1000 squares from the roll of fabric.

Seems like you would get too much contamination in the tray to skip them altogether, but I know one grower who just that, @Corgy, but he was using the bigger autopots. I'd love to hear what some of the other experienced autopot growers are doing for root control fabric.

This approach makes a ton of sense. I ordered all the supplementals that Hans used plus the AN Hobby Pack but I'm not sure what half of them are supposed to do and whether they are helping or not. I plan to use them up (what am I going to do, dump them down the drain? Pretty sure that's illegal in MA lol) and then I will not replacing at least half of them.

you didnt blow up anything, im cool, go with the flow baby!! I think it would be best for me to start slow, then add things as needed. Less is better right now

nice, thank you!!...moms budget is in the toilet, will try to see if i can get a smaller jug. or hell, water the plant with powdered milk and warm water once in a while! ha ha. saw a dude on another site who used to feed his ladies baby formula for nutes + cal/mag

Your plants will tell you if they need Cal-Mag but generally yes. I have personally used Dyna-Gro Mag-Pro it is an excellent product that is very easy on your pocket book.

thank you! i used dyna grow and bloom one year on my tomatoes, they exploded
never tried their mag pro...

soooo....I lined the bottom of each auto pot with a square of ladies black nylon, and filled pots back up with pure coco.
one pot has airdome, one doesnt.
One little gorilla glue OG lady sprouted her tail, so I watered one pot with 1/2L water, 1ml/L AN calmag, 2ml/L AN voodoo juice, and 1ml/L AN B52~ph'd to 5.8. Planted her in tail side down and put her in the tent with the other big girls. (she has the pot without the airdome) Sister seed showed no sign of even cracking...so I put her back into the paper towel and will give her more time. If she sprouts, Ill plant her. If not, I have (3) glueberry OG seeds that should be coming by the end of the week.
I also filled the big girls res up with 3 gallons water and GH grow/bloom and then hand watered the lady in the autopot with the same nute mix.
I also asked Santa again for another COB light so I can ditch the MarsHydro LED the next grow....we will see~

OH>>>>>>another question. Does adding vinegar to lower the PH affect the gibbalygoo stuff in the voodoo juice in any negative way?

Yes sorry for not popping by for a while, just been so ill for the last month with a virus i just could not get rid of but feeling a lot better now, got loads of threads i need to catch up with,my get up and go just got up and went for a while lol
