Cheers matey - yep this one always makes me smile when I see her - as I say, she's been through a bit but is tough as nails :thumbs:
and hot on her heels is Moby Dick - this one is a photo. Another one that has been budding for longer than expected but that again can be attributed to my particular growing techniques (including this one going from inside to out halfway thru flowering and getting a bit of extra sunlight in the process). Theres some DE on the fan leaves in first pics but after that its all frost
Im definetely interested in people advice as to when they wld chop this. Its gone longer than expected and Im keen to get her in a) cause I gotta keep the meds rolling and I think this will be tasty meds but also b) cause I cant have too many plants at once.
Leaves have yellowed somewhat - plucked the worst of them off to let more light in but still fairly green - that said Im not sure if photos need to yellow up as much as autos or whether more depends on the buds/trichs. Speaking of buds and trichs - heres some pics.
As I say, definetely keen as to when pple think wld be due for chop and Ill do my best to let it go - realistically though I might have to chop in stages so as to keep the supply rolling...

absolutely marvelous man,
looks like the worst days
are behind you now,as far
as getting usable bud for meds.
having never grown a photo,
I don't know when she'll be ready,
why not treat her like an auto,
and harvest by trich color?
just an idea, but, chopping in stages
sounds like the best idea to me,
to keep your stock topped up.

Im very much hoping that once these two girls are in its goodbye to the dealer and hello self sufficieny (though I do go through a lot - only way to stop eye feeling like its about to explode). The dissapointing thing personally is that a few rounds since these were started have gone no-where but Im confident Ive got myself a bit more organised now for consistent organic buds - mmmmmmmm
Yeah, thats the main plan but to be honest even with pics blown up Im still not very trusting of my eyesight and not exactly sure what Im looking for anyway so Ill try and keep the pics coming and let those with experienced and focussed eyes guide me as to what stage we are in - then I can hopefully use the pics to refer to in future as well as learn just what to look for. (colourblindness on top of many other forms of blindness doesnt help!!)
Very much looking forward to samplig these (as you may be able to tell from my keenness to harvest) both nice and frosty and sticky!!

I feel your frustration with not bieng able to focus long
enough to get a clear idea of the progress.
luckily I have a wife who will help me,
after a year long battle,she will finally
commit to words what she sees...
she was timid about trichs because she didn't
want to make a bad call.
now she understands my frustration with

maybe you can grab a family member
for a once in a while,"peek at ripeness"

You Know you could pick the Ripest Tomato with a Blindfold on...coz you are used to smelling them..no different to canna..
Trust your Instinct..
Test bud all your girls from around a week Before the Breeder blurb says they will be ready..and let one or two buds go past the harvest date.
Then you start to get a Profile on your girls...when your Prefered harvest point is.
When you Test a bud off..roll a joint with Nothing but bud and leaf in..
and Dry Chuff it..taste what it leaves in your mouth Before you light it..
You mouth makes a taste smell connection..and you will start to be able to Detect those changes in your girls..

eyesight is shocking mate - one doesnt work and the other barely (with double vision, constant flashing lights etc etc as well as low vision) and on top of that due to my eye drops for the glaucoma have had rhinitis (translation - really screwed up nose and sinuses in general) for nearly a decade so smell isnt fantastic either but it is something I am trying to 'explore' and train for this purpose. Am also hoping that as I get a secure stash and an open minded local optometrist or city specialist I can possibley ditch the mentioned eye-drops for pure organicness but thet'll be a wait and see thing.
Nice tip - Ill definetely try the pre toking toke to help train the taste and smell. I must admit these are both currently well over the breeders due date (I've made em work hard so let em have a bit extra time) - really trying to let the plants do the talking in that regard rather than breeders notes - I've just gotta learn to listen!

the drops suck..especially the Pred-Forte.
they get into the tear ducts somehow and
you can taste that metal taste in your mouth
and smell it in your nose for hours afterward.
eating things pickled in white vinegar helps
with the taste but,its just replacing one taste
with another.
a toothbrushing with bicarb of soda helps alot
on most days too with the taste.

Great looking plant, glaucoma! From what I can see in those pics, it looks like mostly cloudy trichs with a few clear mixed in. But the md6a pic has quite a bit more amber so that might be a good place to start if you're looking to pinch a bud.

I see some amber in MD5a.JPG and MD6a.jpg. I would do as Andy suggested
If you are still unsure to chop or not, take a heap of closeup shots and spam this thread with them
And you are going to get some good smoke from that plant Glaucoma, your growing skills are improving at a fast pace.
