Grow Room Micro Auto Adventures with Mr. Sparkle

Well pulled the trigger after a bit too much thinking and calculations, first decided not to build a new box for quite a few reasons, but i did decide to upgrade my LED's in Ashla wanted to go with 4 led's for better coverage, but for the hassle and already being outfitted for two i've decided to just do a straight upgrade, the only thing that is changing is the led's, The color spectrum is going more blue as well "5000k" as i like it in my other box but i should be getting about 30% more light after the swap, gotta love tech advancement.

Also plucked some seeds off the other dark devil, looking at about 150 off of it so far, so we will have a good 300-400+ seeds when all is said and done, which im gonna chop whats left of the two plants probably Sunday to mid week next week at the latest.

Still have decided on whats gonna fill the spot, the DP blueberry's in my 12/12 box will be coming down shortly as well, haven't given them a good check through the loupe yet but they are getting there with a week or so left.

Always love checking out your set-up!!!! Are the COBs higher powered or are you just aiming for a better blended spectrum??

And it sounds like you're going to have quite the perpetual Dark Devil garden for quite some time!!! lol

Lastly, are your DP Blueberries changing purple at all??

Thanks JT, No they will be driven at the same 700ma per COB, they are just better one because of technological advancement, and two i'll be under driving these ones which causes a higher lumen/w output which spec wise should be in the 190 lumens/w range and around 4000 lumens per COB so we will have plenty of light, also for the spectrum i have always felt and observed my plants always grew better under a more even "mixed" or bluer spectrum, it also helps a bit with height control, down side in the past was plants take a tad longer but we're talking only a couple days but we will see once i change things over.

Yeah ill be running some dark devil for quite some time, i mainly made seeds because i was running out of auto seeds and didn't want to buy more yet before burning through my current stash of Photoperiod seed, also i really liked the Dark Devil so it wasn't a hard choice to make more, i'll also be giving some of them away to a friend who grows from time to time.

As for the Dutch Passion Blueberries, absolutely not they're fully green, mind you they're not being flushed to try to promote color and have quite abit of nitrogen due to a nutrient change error where they got double strength nutes for a time, but even still they would probably just have a slight hue change, or at least these ones i've been growing, also growing these i'm gonna have to try DJ shorts actual versions at some point just cause if these are the supposed legendary Blueberry i haven't exactly been blown away yet, still have to harvest though, nice plants though.

Yeah it shure does! R.N.S.I. (really nice stealth independent) micro master -hows the orange bud? got some seeds stored i think of doing next time. I remember some good times with it...

Really?? That's surprising as I've heard a lot of good things about the DP Blueberries both photo/auto, however I can see why you're not impressed. I'm growing some DP Auto Blueberries; one of them is a beautiful deep purple leaf/leaf margins, w/ a nice bright green intervein/petiole, but tiny and the 2nd one started out as an odd bush that grew several relatively equal length colas on its own, but is turning a more pale purple on only the half of the plant that is getting hit w/ the 3500K DIY COB panel, but is getting showered by HPS on the other side.. They both smell almost identical though..

I like what you're saying about cooling the spectrum, and I'd even heard of growers using MH HID their entire grow.. I think when I convert my other Mars II, I'm gonna go w/ 3-3500K, 2-4100K and 1-5000K.. Should be able to broaden the spectrum a bit..

I was just thinking, you have a ton of lumens in that small area that you grow!!!!!! ~8,000 is pretty serious for a roughly 1.5ft^3 area!!!

It was good enough for me to keep it around for a couple rounds, but i found i was reaching for other jars a lot more often, and took that as a sign to move on. Nice scent and flavor though, yield was on the low side, but was good bud.

Yeah don't mistake what i'm saying for it being bad, as its smell is decent, kinda a fruity type with indica skunk under tones just under whelming, the structure is good and quite dense, produces a lot of resin as even the mid level fan leaves are covered for the few it has at the moment and im sure it will be some nice bud, just haven't been blown away yet and my tastes have been going after more sativa like strains, but i will be re-vegging the best looking and smelling one of the bunch, as for it not having color, pretty sure it comes down to a few things, such as too much nitrogen, im not flushing it, and also my cases run a bit on the warmer side, where as if i had cold temps and let it consume its nutrient store near the end im sure some color would come out just cause with how dark the plants are there has to be some underlying pigment to cause that, but its not like the dard devils fro example where you know they will be purple when looking at them in seedling form.

As for the lumens yeah it's a bit and i can get light bleaching in some situations the other case is actually around 8000lumens per sqft aswell but its only 0.85sqft, this one is around 1.0-1.1sqft and should be about the same

Here's that trifoliate for anyone who is wondering, also you may notice the two seedling behind it, those happen to be some dark devil seedlings from this current batch of seeds, they were actually some green seeds i popped the shell of and threw in a wet paper towel, doing quite well surprisingly.
