Grow Room Methods of Heating Indoor Grow Tent In Winter

Yeah, that's the move! I grabbed a similar product for my nutrient tank too

Like @St. Tom I also use a tube heater it’s 1ft 40 watts and in my 2x2 tent in small box bedroom of house, temps still get down below 20 deg c at night when it’s on full whack so I’d imagine you would need 2 x tube heaters that are bigger than 1ft formbasement if you are going that route.

Mines maybe 3 times the size of that bro I just keep it on the floor amongst the pots

I try to plan my grows for winter so that I can run a sealed environment and recirculate heat best as possible. Lights help a little but a humidifier during flower can also creates heat. With the correct size environment and number of plants the volume of respiration should require that a sealed environment needs to be dehumidified. So not only does the sealed environment allow me to target VPD easily it’s a built in heat source.

During veg I run a oil filled radiator on a timer in low. I’ve used the killawatt to find the best use of wattage to create BTU for the tent. I find a small cheap oil filled although it pulls a bit of power uses it the most efficiently because the oil is always radiating the heat as it cycles and allows it to remain consistent through cycles. Not everybody can find a spot for a radiator and then a humidifier during a grow though.

i use a greenhouse tube heater like this one it keeps my temps so it never goes below 22c even in the uk winter and it doesn't get in the way as its next to my pots on the tent floor View attachment 1111275
I would love to have one of these, but they are not available in the US. If they are I can't find them.

Hey folks! Temps here in the Northeast are going to start dropping very soon and I'm getting a little worried about keeping my tent heated through the winter.
I'm still a rookie grower so I haven't grown in the winter so I was hoping to get some good ideas and advice from the Network!

Here's my set up:.
- 3x3x6 Tent in the basement
- LED lighting that only increases temp by ~4º F
- 2 clip-on fans
- AC Infinity Cloudline T6 inline fan
- 6 plants
I like @Archaic use a infrared reptile heater.

Not in use now just put in to take pic. I ran down to HD and grabbed the light fixture was like $8.99 and picked up a bulb on Ebay for $7.xx. its 50w but they had 25 and 75 also. 50 is perfect for my tent 2'x4'x5'. I use only during veg normally, the 3 autocobs and p150 are all in flower and provide good amount of warmth. I also use it to germ my seeds. I put seeds on seedling mat in a cardboard box. Then I turn on heater and fan and its get like a rain forest mid to upper 80's and humid. I also am loving those tube heaters I saw. I would be leary of the dehumidifier 1's, may not be best during veg. Not sure how much humidity they take out.

The dehumidifier type tube don't really dehumidify, they simply warm the air in a gun safe. The following was taken from a dehumidifier website
A GoldenRod Dehumidifier lowers relative humidity by warming the air. ... As well as lowering relative humidity the heat from the rod generates a circulation of air. If mounted, as recommended, on the floor of a storage container such as a gun safe, the warmed air rises to the top of the container.
So yes it would remove some of the humidity to a degree but nowhere near as a real dehumidifier that you would need to empty the condensate. I'm just not sure that the GoldenRod Dehumidifiers are big enough unless you run 2 or 3 of the large ones.

I got you...

$43.11 shipped to you from the UK. 2ft 80w. I maybe grabbing 1 of these. I wonder if I could hookup to a dimmer and control temperature range? This is why I prefer Ebay to Amazon, didnt see any on 1st three pages but ton of them on Ebay. All from UK seems but 43 bucks with shipping ain't bad!

My deal is my tent is in my shop. Is that to many my's in one sentence? lol. I do have a wood furnace, but can't cut enough wood to keep a fire all winter since I became disabled and can't afford to buy it. So I would have to run a sealed tent. Then I would have to supplement CO2, and have humidifier and dehumidifier with the heater. Also several controllers or one high dollar one. I have 2 600 watt Hids that I can utilize the heat from them plus remove glass when really cold. So would not reduce any light from bulbs, For that much money I should go ahead and build an insulated grow room and put a small tent in the house just for winter. Any suggestions?
