DAY 49

Sorry for the horrible pics, I'm short on time this morning and wanted to do a quick update as the gals have had a busy couple of days.

4AM is packing on more frost and fattening up a bit.
She's a real stinker already. I know I'll be growing this strain again soon. Very productive for her small stature as well. It's tough to open her up but there is decent flower development all through the plant. With better training she could give a very respectable return.

One of the SNs is definitely the purple pheno, i hope she keeps her colouring through drying and doesn't go that muddy browny purple because she's quite a looker as it is:

Got much less stink that the 4AM but what little smell she does have is a slightly dry chocolate, woody, diesel thing going on.

I know these are horrible pics but hopefully you can see how even the canopy on the other SN is, amazing considering it was just a single topping and basically nothing else. The height on both plants is identical:

Not as frosty and not real smell yet though.

And here's out little weirdo Fantasmo x Stomper.
Weirdly looks pretty healthy but obviously a bit of mutant. Looking like she might be beginning to grow out of it though.

As they're all well in bloom now, they've bushed out a bit and space is rapidly disappearing but definitely room for two new ones.

I added Big Bud to their feed. I'm on the fence about it but will continue to use it as it's there. If anyone has any suggestions for some bloom nutes to add, I'm all ears. Bud Candy any good? Terpinator? Is it all just money down the drain? Will we ever really know for sure....!?

Looking fantastic mate, expect the topped one to be a few days behind as they had to spend a couple days restructuring but she looks so good! For only a topping and not much else work i think that is amazing.
Doubt the yield will be any more but she should produce some much danker bud.
I can already see the difference between the snapped stem on Val and the deliberately topped Tilda with maybe double the budsites on an already bushy and squat plant!

If i’m going to be honest man most of the crazy bloom stimulants and the like are best used once you’ve got more experience.
I’m even very careful with something as simple as topmax because it can do more harm than good if you get the ratios wrong but ofc that’s my opinion.
Used something similar to terpinator on one of the plants my mate was letting me grow with his help in his garden on the second grow with him and if anything my results were poorer for it but some people get better results so i guess it’s one of those “if you have the cash and want to play around” type things since you can grow great plants with just your traditional NPK sources, soil and water the rest is just preference and availability really.

Everyone is a bit conflicted on the efficacy of a lot of those things so i doubt you’ll get a straight answer haha

Thanks, yeah I'm not really convinced about all these additional things, maybe they make more of a difference in DWC, who knows. I'll probably do a side by side at some point. I'm not even really convinced about Big Bud to be honest, but I have it on hand so why not. I liked the Sugar Peak but am having trouble sourcing it now. All these plants seem pretty sensitive to nutes, so it's probably best to keep it simple anyway.

Re the topping, I agree, i don't think it will improve the yield but it has made the whole grow a lot easier, she seems to be healthier for it too and required less defol due to the more open structure. I'll be topping the Fantasmo x Stomper for sure, I wish i had done so on the 4AM too. Lucky there's another bean to go!

I got pretty much the whole set up off a friend of a friend who only did one grow with it. £250 for the tent, light, ballast, two DWC buckets, another tent, nutes, fabric pots, two (crap) LED panels and a bunch of other stuff. A total steal.

The tent's brilliant, it can take a load of weight, great construction, the material is really heavyweight Can't really see how it could be improved tbh. It's the only bit of good kit I've got!

Yeah man believe me i went with a budget black orchid tent for my secondary unit and there’s no fucking air circulation vents on the bottom for intake, only vents for extract up top so i have had to rig something up which is a pain in the ass without straight up cutting into the tent which i can’t do without more light-proof material!
Pain in the ass.

Pretty jealous that you got that much gear for 250 if i’m being honest! Such a steal

not horrible pics at all mate

tent looks awesome! they're doing a good job of filling the space for sure. all three are set for some chunky buds!
the purples on my CDLC tones down to that muddy browny purple you mentioned, but her purps never appeared as strong as that nuggets did so i think you'll end up with pretty colours on her! but! don't discount the green strawberry! the green ones i've seen so far always appear the frostiest strawberries. i'm not HUGE on purples either so maybe some bias there but if [when] i grew out a Strawb' i'll be hoping for a green pheno myself.

i just bought Big Bud to add to the rest of my AN lineup. only used Overdrive last grow from day 60 or something. figured they could do with a boost way before that.
i didn't use anything like Bud Candy or Terpinator either. and honestly never felt like the terps were lacking because of it! but if money permits (doubtful at this time of year haha) i'll add either Bud Candy or Bud Factor X to the lineup too. but at least i know if the £££ is low, i don't need those products.

keep the FxS going! she's funky but i think she'll get stronger!

Cheers! Yeah they look like they'll put out some big uns, crossing my fingers. Getting really stinky already, I'm amazed. Probably not much need for Terpinator lol.

The purple one is really dark but nevermind, i was hoping for a green and pink. She was pink initially but maybe the cool temps pushed her over. I've got no complaints. Feel like I'm growing different strains and you know what they say about variety.

FxS seems to be getting over it's kooky start now. Still a weirdo though.

Thanks but I think I'll go for a decent LED, my lekky bill is giving me nightmares. Not sure whether to for cobs or a panel. Cobs seem to be everyone's choice of light here but I'm worried the shipping will be killer too.

Whenever i start looking around i feel like my brain is melting. A lot a wild claims and conflicting info. I want something that is gonna give me what a 600W bulb is, but for half the running cost. I might be asking too much... I also can't go over £500.

I know you are set on LED but you can pick up a CMH light with a Philips bulb for about £250......and they only use 315w......up to you tho dude obviously:smiley1:
