New Grower Mephisto SODK in M3 Michigan made super soil

Hey everybody this is my first post I’ve been looking around this site for over a year though and figured it was time to make an account.

I’m on day 16 of a SODK from Mephisto freebie. Growing in 3 gallon smart pot under its own mars hydro 300w. M3 Michigan made water only super soil.

I have a few questions. Has anyone used this soil before? Is it good and will it really make it through a grow with water only? The guy at the hydro shop raved about it and said it was WAY better then the Coast of Maine Stonington blend that I wanted to buy.

Also my SODK has shown sex already at day 14. It’s only about 5 inches tall. Does this mean it’s going to start flowering soon? Or can I expect a good amount of growth before flowering actually starts. I’m new to auto flowers.

it is listed as a 75 day auto so i would think your gonna get some growth still. you going to top it?

I wasn’t planning to top it but now would be the perfect time if I was going to huh? I was surprised to see it throw white pistols so early, at 14 days. I’m hoping for a decent yield because I can only grow 2 plants at a time right now. I have 2 mars hydro 300w and I’m only growing 1 plant under each light.

The other plant I’m growing is Mephisto Strawberry Nuggets and it looks like it’s going to only bring in about an ounce. The thing is so bushy and only got 10 inches tall. Been kind of a frustrating plant to grow to be honest. But it’s going to be some really good smoke!

You may find you'll need some additional nutrients later in flower using a super soil.
Your sodk should stretch out a bit now that shes shown sex. Are you letting the soil dry a bit in between watering? I've found it easy to stunt or make a small plant by over watering.

Thanks guys! I’m going to follow through with this journal because there is not a lot of info out there about this M3 soil. I want to see if it lives up to its hype.

I usually use Fox Farm Ocean Forrest with added perlite and dolemite lime and have had pretty decent results untill recently it seems like the Ocean Forrest has WAY to much nitrogen in it. Dark green leaves late in flower without ever giving any ‘grow’ nutes.

Thanks guys things coming along nicely so far. I’ve grown photo plants for the last 5 years and decided to try some autos after seeing some of the Mephisto grows you guys are doing around here.

I’m a little concerned about the SODK putting out pre flowers so early. I’m hoping for some serious growth before it really starts to flower. Not being able to control when to make the plant flower is a little bit different lol

Not much new going on with the plant..getting a little bigger everyday. Doing a little leaf tucking and I have a T5 I’m using for side lighting to get some of the branches to come out of the dark.

Really thinking about trying to grab an autocob or 2 that I see you guys growing with. Would it be a big upgrade over the mars hydro 300w? I’m sure it would. Any discount codes? Moneys a little tight at the moment.
