Mephisto battle udpate, week [HASHTAG]#3[/HASHTAG].

Some clawing/curling on the upper leaves for both these girls. Didn't think I over watered, but maybe Mephitso's just like a little less? Still vegging, I have hope. Temp 78-82 Humidity 40-50%.

Update Week [HASHTAG]#4[/HASHTAG]

Day 35

Week 5 Update

Mephitso Battle

So this White Chem is officially my Mephitso battle girl. She will be referred to as Chemmy going forward. It was actually a tough choice as both this girl and my Northern Cheese Haze recovered well from the early over watering, and have dark beautiful leaves now. Chemmy, despite being a little stretchy, should have the bigger buds and ultimately be more photogenic.

Mephisto Battle Update Final

So this girl is all done! Eventually I had to support every branch with a pole as the buds were just too heavy.

White Chem day 69 from seed.

Man I know thats right! I literally HAD to go buy a super sprouted heat mat. Def helped me at least maintain steady temps. I did kinda figure out that if u want it at 80.. set it to 75-77. It runs hot.

That was my largest obstacle in the beginning. Now Ice got it dialed in... while in freezing weather ;) my room fluctuates badly throughout the day from 68-82F. That’s in the tent lol, imagine what the rooms at? Low 50s

I use a temp controller and know exact temp of soil as there is a small probe that goes down into soil ..... Issue with mats, and you can prove to yourself, just take a thermo gun and measure temp of mat - if anything like my mats, temps vary by 10 degrees depending on where ..... ideal root zone temp is about 75 degrees but root zone should be cooler than air temps ..... with 80ish degree room have 74-75ish soil temp ......

Temp is higher to warm soil but I set back to 73 degrees about 12 hours before planting seeds - temp at planting was around 74 degrees with inside temp at 78 - I’m struggling to get inside 80 degrees but my humidity is around 70 percent .... germination should be good

Yea I wish I had soil probes, I can bury the super sprouted probe for the same effect, I find the one I have to be inaccurate as far as the temp in the dial goes VS the actual temp it tries to reach

So you just put the probe into your soil and it heats it? Or you talking about a flat mat?

Probe takes the soil temp and relays that info to the controller......

I put probe deep into the soil and it reads the temp at that bottom level then probe sends signal to mat to either increase or decrease mat temp so as to stay within a two degree range of your setting ..... in my example I have six small start pots probe is in only one - balance of pots should be close but pick a pot towards middle of mat as that usually is hot spot on mat - check yourself with temp gun, you’ll see mat temp varies ..... temp controller is under $18 .....
