Indoor Mephisto Auto Blue, GH nutrients and coco, lumigrow pro led

Day 60

Well my poor little Auto blue is now at day 60. She is only supposed to go 65 to 75 days but I think mine is going to take a little bit longer. I have about 16 tops on her they're all quite small, but if they develop it'll end up giving me a nice little yield.

So I obviously don't have any calyx swelling yet. There's plenty of room to put on more weight in those buds. We'll just have to see if she has enough healthy leaves left to do it.

The only time I butchered a plants this bad is when I was first experimenting with defoliation in deep water culture. That time I tripped a breaker lost my ventilation and my air pump in my buckets. I figure I went almost 24 hours with 90-degree res temps and no oxygenation, room temps were over a hundred. That plant looks about like this one.

She looks ok to me, the leaves look nice an frosty with trichs. I was surprised how much bigger my N/L buds became in the final 2-3wks. The pistils don't look anywhere near ready, so she could put a bit of weight on yet. I'm not clear what you mean about "seeing if she has enough healthy leaves"... to do what?

I had to remove a bunch of crispy leaves that were incapable of photosynthesis anymore. That was mainly a result of that last overdose when I fed the wrong nutrients.

So from here on out I'm going to have to give this plants exactly what she needs exactly when she needs it. Because she doesn't have all those nice solar panels out there that convert energy and build her buds on her own.

On a side note I dropped my Grow on my Durban Poison down by 4 mil per gallon. And I actually had to drop it again by another half mil per gallon. Seems like when she decided she didn't need that much nitrogen she just decided to quit. So if things don't change I might have to make some adjustments in my Cal Mag or micro to get my N down.

The vast and fast is satisfied with one mil per gallon of grow at this point.

Finding the right nutrient level is what I find the most stressful about growing

Yeah I eventually want to be on auto water doing different strains going to make it really hard. I'm going to have to get my foliar feeding down pat.

So here is a close up of the roached leaves. They are on the uppers only, which is typical of LEDS being too low. That combined with the nutrient issues and low temps and, now that I think about it, ME it just couldn't handle it.

So those pictures should be in the order of highest on the plants to lowest and indicate cal mag deficiency caused by the LED being too low. I simply forgot to raise it up later in flower wich is something I have to do with my lumigrow pro LEDs.

I am not giving her any groe nutrients and I'm going cut the micro on the next mix I'm reluctant to cut cal mag, but it does have N so idk. I could simply be flushing a healthier plant right now.

The Durban is still 32 inches and I've been dropping the N about every forth water and I'm on twice a day now. She is staying green but looking okay.

The blackberry has grown to 30" and is a slightly pale green, since she is getting the same nutes as the Durban it tells me she will stretch a bit more. So she will pass the Durban.

So I have learned a few things on this grow.

1) light cycle effects stretch

2) autos are sensitive to temps, too low hurts

3) autos after sensitive to nutes and requirements change fast

4) if you are not doing well above don't experiment

What does this mean?

When I read the description that says short bushy plants I will keep the temps up. Watch my nutrients. And keep my light cycle at 18 6.

So on my next run I'm going to grow a completely different strain, 3 plants and experiment with ga3, proving once again I am the biggest pest in my Grow room.

Of course, we learn the most when things are not going so well. I think the plants look ok, especially the Blackberry. 30" is a nice size for my tent. I think I'll try using epsom salts rather than calmag during flower. It cuts out N

Yeah Epsom salts are a good source of magnesium, should also help your plant uptake the calcium in your water. I suspect plants are like people and calcium and magnesium are synergistic, so best together.

I'm thinking of using a bit of calcium chloride in my late flower mix, I've read coco is a bit low on chloride for flower when using r/o water. Probably a great reason to flush with tap water when indicated. Sorry, I'm rambling, I tend to use this thread as a train of though process..........
