MEGA CROP 2.0 750g free sample promo

I ask that and @HemiSync above is running 5 gallon DWC lol.

Can you please help me man. Here’s what I have. Bought a shitty pump and someone told me to take it back and get a better one so I did. This one makes the water appear to be almost rolling boiling.

Never ran hydro ever. Good soil grower, excited to try hydro. HOPING I can get by on just megacrop as I hear hydro is abit finicky....

Here is my cheat sheet for a 20 gal reservoir. I started mine off between 30-40% strength. So for 5 gal. I would start off about 10 grams of MC.

20 Gal tank
6grams / gal = full strength
5grams = 1 teaspoon

20% 24g
30% 36g
40% 48g
50% 60g
60% 72g
70% 84g
80% 96g
90% 108g
100% 120g

so for a true 5 gal it would be:

20% 6g
30% 9g
40% 12g
50% 15g
60% 18g
70% 21g
80% 24g
90% 27g
100% 30g

Screen shotted that thanks a bunch. Do you use megacrop as a stand alone nute in DWC? Trying to do this as cheap as possible. Someone mentiones I’m going to have to keep my bucket water temps down. Was gonna use frozen two liters of ice in the bucket. Hope 170GPH is enough air flow....

Rez temps below 70f are ideal, 68 is a good target. If you tent is warm try moving the air pump outside to a cooler environment. Get a digital temp probe from cooking section at walmart or whatever, makes it easy to check rez temps. If you run your lights 24/7 it should be fairly easy to dial it in Id think. If you cant keep your rez temps down, research adding diluted bleach to rez to prevent root rot/bacteria from growing. I use MC in coir with no other additives so Im sure it will be fine in DWC also, both are essentially hydro.

I’ve got my one Hempy in the sealed Res (Sams Crack) on just Megacrop and Hydrogaurd/Silica. Essentially it’s just MC2.0 cuz there’s rly no nute value to the supplements I’m adding in.

PH is 6.16ph this morning. Holding steady finally! I think my Res’s were TOO SMALL to properly hold the PH I wanted before. Now it’s been holding much much closer to wat I put it in at.

Slight slight Nitrogen buildup in the tips of my Sams Crack leaves, no curling or clawing tho at 1/4tsp per gal

I have run DWC in the past but this is my first time with MC. I don’t measure it out, I adjust my EC or PPM. I use 200ppm for seedlings and bump up from there as they show a need. That one in the picture was just bumped up to 400ppm of MC 1.0. Side note: my tap water has plenty of cal/mag, I add 400ppm of MC on top of what my water has in it.

My real concern is for your setup. What kind of lights are you using? And if you shine one on the outside of that white bucket can you see it inside the bucket? If so, you are eventually going to have a big problem with stuff growing inside your bucket that won’t be friendly to your roots. There has to be as little light pollution going inside your DWC as possible. I use black, opaque buckets because of that. If you can see the light thru you need to find a way to block it. https://www.growweedeasy.com/dwc-stop-light-leaks-in-reservoir Those pictures tell the whole story.

Water temperature should be monitored and kept around 68°F as cool water can hold more dissolved oxygen in the 60-70°F range. Although you can go higher if using a beneficial against root rot. Also, if you don’t have one, a pH meter is necessary when running DWC.

I love the DIY spirit, but what is that you are using as a netpot? I hope it’s strong enough to hold the rootball of a fully grown plant. You will be amazed at how big they can get. I’ve seen them rip right thru a five inch netpot. Plus that white lid has the same issue with light as the bucket. Not meaning to bash you, but don’t want to see you get 1/4 of the way thru only to be battling root rot. Good luck, start a journal and I’m sure there will be at least a couple growers willing to tag along and offer advice.

Here is where I started reading a few years back when I was first interested in DWC.

Hey thanks a bunch for the help. The basket is a coco powder bucket lol. Fits in the lid nice and secure. Was going to either paint the bucket and lid black or run duct tape around it etc. 600w HPS and about 1000 true watts of LED. Don’t always run the LEDS. Temps in tent sit around 80-84, so definitely will have to cool the water. Can grab a real net basket on my way home from work if I need to. Is 170GPH strong enough pump for one plant?
