As this is living soil, there aren’t really traditional feedings going on, but I am making tea for them when they get a drink. I don’t check ppm or EC, no ph nothing right now. I just want to see what I can do with little to no effort.

Three of the plants are showing signs that I am ok on ph and nutrient uptake looks good for them. We shall see on the remaining seedlings how it shakes out. My light issues don’t help uptake consistency.

The tea is made of tap water around 72 degrees F, two tbsp/unsulfured molasses per gallon, two tbsp Girl Flower Power. It’s got all ths nutrients the plants need from veg into flower too! Let that sit for 6-8 hours, then feed ladies. No bubbling going on, just let it sit and let the GFP soak into the water making the tea. I make it in jugs and shake them up big time.:stir:
That’s the what…

I just monitor soil and wait for signs it’s drying up up top on first couple inches, then Itreat soil again. Really with living soil, your keeping the soil and it’s good stuff alive, and if you do, the plants thrive in that medium.
Let’s keep this thing going!
Thanks for stopping in :thanks:

Day 14 and some late stragglers around 6 days or so…

Here is Aurora. Looking very healthy.

It’s getting steamy in here :coffee2:

Sugar looking sweet as usual. Can’t complain about her structure either.
8E121D67-616D-4C44-BBF2-4E0D18300142.jpeg

Short and stout…going to be some sticky buds on this girl.
F39BCFFD-4A6E-48CA-AA26-D60BF4C7CA20.jpeg

Some good little secondary shoots there. Can’t wait to start the LST.
I will wait and let them stretch a little more. Turned the lights down just a tick to encourage a touch of stretch.
The rest of the tent is now transplanted. They will take a day before they will grow in their new pots. I will update with closeup and names in next post.
Thanks for stopping in folks.
The living soil seems to be up to the task so far, let’s see what happens next…

B308480B-4A7E-4AA9-92D1-676E1309FADD.jpeg

Even the completely broken, then fried, then drowned Violet(bottom right) is still alive and trying to actually grow. My GF won’t let me take her out. Says I have to let her live and see what she will do?? :shrug:What’s a guy to do. I will give her a chance!

See you around folks. I hope your grows and lives are going well. Take care:thanks:

Day 15 “On the mend…”

Things starting to look more and more normal in my tent. I lot has really been a learning curve going from old school cobs to these led boards. I feel like an idiot, but finally have it dialed for all three lights now. They are stronger than they look and the autos really seem to like less light more than more for sure…anyways.

Here they are.
86B80CC5-F53F-4B6B-ABB6-160BE28D71AB.jpeg

Aurora, Charlotte and Sugar like the big light. I moved Iris to the smaller light, she kept showing light stress.
E33A0D5D-AE94-4A62-85B1-5CC6E7AAD770.jpeg

Crazy how much I almost screwed up this grow like three times  I think we might get it all back on track now. It’s early enough in the grow to get a really solid harvest still, even with the issues. It is a weed after all. It will handle a hit of abuse and still flower nicely.

Here is Aurora the N. Lights. Looking very plush.

Her secondary growth is starting to move along. Training should come for her within a week or so…

Dude view for those three.

Here is Sugar, the SB Cheesecake.
F421B4B5-DC1C-4FC3-B44C-0EAA5AA9790F.jpeg

And then there’s Charlotte. She is looking stout now.
DEEDF03B-795F-46E9-B364-DA7E156D3466.jpeg

Still just a touch of light stress showing on the stems, but much improved.
I can’t believe how little light these plants want. Might be a small ph issue, but I think it just how this grow space is functioning right now. Seems very efficient. Like I always say folks…grow the plant in front if you, don’t just follow directions for the sake of following them.
The light heights now are like 60% less light than the specs said I should use. My Mars Ts1000’s are running at like 30” and at 25% only. The Viparspectra is at like 32” from canopy and at 20% only. They say 26-30” at 60%. That would absolutely fry these plants.
Be careful out there folks.
Here’s the new girls. Let’s hope they pan out somehow.

First up, Fuchsia, the Double Grape that got both drowned at cooked. Poor little thing.

We shall see.
Could still be just fine.

B4620EAB-0C9C-4E1E-979B-39CDAD2B7BAB.jpeg

Here is poor little Violet. She is pretty sad, but she still has life.

Next up, Iris, she got moved to the lower light side of tent.
8214BC7C-4933-4341-A6CA-7DC3A25DD83B.jpeg

Still a little red on the stems, but she looks better over here. Only running 9.2 DLI right now. That’s low for a plant her size, but that’s all she wants.
Ok, now we have Brûlée, the CDLC.
C9993CBB-42BD-49EE-8C96-5891F26B66A7.jpeg

she looks much happier now.

Lila is up next.
DAC69114-11CC-44B7-AED3-25A10F96E5F8.jpeg

Looking pretty nice. She’s the Sour Stomper x Double Grape. She will be super frosty.
Can’t forget her little sister Goldie. She almost didn’t pop, then I beat her up unintentionally…

3Bears OG x Mango Smile. A little Sativa lady.

38D7CC9A-777B-41F2-A741-C85DBAC8EFCC.jpeg

Last on the list today is Liv. She’s a Livers Bx1 from Mephisto. Yummy skunky cheese, yes please!

Finally picking up pace now. Hope you guys can learn from my mistakes. I think I have it dialed in now though. Let’s do this :headbang:

Adding oxygen to the tea while brewing will provide you with better results. The bacteria you are growing inside the tea are aerobic ie, in need of oxygen. The bacteria you don't want in the tea are anaerobic bacteria and they hate oxygen. So to prevent the wrong bacteria growing you need to keep it in constant motion. And airpump or small aquarium pump will do the trick.
Did you know you can grow your own bacterial cultures? Have a look at this old thread

Great writeup buddy.
Also cool of you to not only show to good. It's ok if something happens and turns into sh!t. Learn from it and go on and get better at it with the help of your AFN friends and share that knowledge. That's what it's all about :d5:

Thanks man. It’s been a while since I have done this. There’s definitely a learning curve each time you change your environment. I appreciate the help from all the great people on AFN.
I shake the bottle for five minutes every time I’m in the grow. Open the bottle and shake again. I am buying a pump this week to get that done in more consistent manner. Thanks for the heads up though.:d5:

I’m a little concerned about these other girls. Do you check your DLI? If so, what do you run your lights at?

I will pop over and take a closer look at what you do and how you do it. Thanks again.

Nope, I run my lights at the power needed to keep my tent optimal in temperature. Would have liked to automate it as the TS-1000 has a connection for daisy chaining multiple lights together via a RJ11. But I've been to lazy and didn't mess around with it.

I will pop over and take a closer look at what you do and how you do it. Thanks again.
Your very :welcome:.

Day 20 “Patience is key…”

The next chapter in the saga of this grow is unfolding nicely. Still a little stunted from my early shenanigans, the youngsters look healthy, my guess is they are working underneath the ground on the root system. The moon cycle was in a down phase, but it is returning this week and will be full in two weeks which always help the plants grow up more! Never ignore the moon phases when growing this stuff!

Here is what the room looks like…

0EDFC011-88C6-4E5A-9915-5568F3DF1B23.jpeg

There are two additions and one subtraction from the room. Poor little Violet has been put in a large pot and set outside on the deck(she grew already two inches after being put out there in the sun), and a Double Grape and Gumberry x GDP have been added.

The older ladies are doing nicely. All different in structure, but that’s expected with different strains.
E93A3FE3-0CD4-454E-8A30-BE861F789DFB.jpeg

Back left is Sugar and she will be more squatted and short, back right is Charlotte, the Runtz strain but looks like a tall girl for sure.
Front left is Iris, Lenny and not a ton of secondary growth yet, but she has recovered nicely. Front right is Goldie, the 3BOG x Mango Smile. Stunted but finding her way back. Center is Aurora, the N. lights little lady. Was the tallest, but she is under the center of the light and that’s keeping her a little bit down. Don’t mind really, as she will take off big time during the stretch.

D4EDA957-265A-4F5F-AA25-46D4D9B8C604.jpeg

A nice shot of Aurora so you can see her undergrowth. I pulled one set of fan leaves to open up the top level of bud sites. She will do very well I believe.

The room is set at optimal temp and RH right now.
D5B91F19-EE4B-406F-AAC8-4BAC83289026.jpeg

25C and around 70% RH for veg is perfect!!

My VPD should be optimal…lights is finally where it should be(much less than I thought), only running like 7.0 DLI at soil level max and under 6 on a couple plants. Anyone else seeing this low DLI to keep them happy?? It tripped me up a little on this grow. Seems like low light, but I have never used these LED boards before…still somewhat skeptical if I’m honest that the light is enough. The plants say it is right now.

278DC96E-972E-4C8A-BDDF-9768F4D22701.jpeg

That’s Charlotte in back.

9C5C3D1E-263D-4AAC-9C87-38379A25D1ED.jpeg

This is Brûlée, the CDLC. Finally starting growth after the stunted light incident:(

Still think she will make a decent plant. They stunted, but they all look healthy.

Thanks for stopping in…it’s about to get interesting in here.
:headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Day 26 “It’s time to have the talk…”

Yep folks, the day is here already for Sugar. She hit flower. Stripped her down, and brought her in closer to light to start.

Here she is…

Ready for the stretch now! Let’s go girl… going to be short and hopefully stout!
Here is Aurora. Gave her a little trim
To let that amazing canopy get more light!

There are two new member to the family. A double Grape named Magda that got burned somehow even though she was in the same level DLI like her sister, Mave, another GDP x Gumberry. Two strains I really want to have some good herb from!

Here is Magda. The Double Grape from Mephisto:kiss:
