Has anyone ever had this issue with mars hydro ts600? I’ve just checked on the girls and noticed a large amount of melted foamy stuff on the top of the light. I have cleaned the sticky foam stuff off, and it starts to slowly but surely bubble up again.

Thank you

It’s hard to explain. It is metallic smelling a bit. Kinda smells like nutes. My gf asked if I spilled any on the light lol. My light is too high up for me to spill anything on it. Not to mention it keeps bubbling up once I clean it. Seems very sticky

Hmmm Sounds Dodgy!! ... I don't recommend tasting it ... just in case!

Do you have a spare light? The captain sensible in me suggests replacing that one .. you don't want it to drip on your plants - it could be poisonous!

It fucking smells like poison :crying:

But yes, I have another few lights spare. But I paid like $120 or so for This from Mars.

This is my second ts600 that has screwed me over. Great little light but does not seem to last very long. Last time my diodes burned out, but now this time something else. Can’t find anything on the internet regarding it. Not to mention the heat sink does not have holes or anything for this foamy acid stuff to leak out. Very odd. I’m hoping they will replace it, or just give me a ts1000 at a decent discounted price and I’ll pay for that instead. I’m certain they offered me this with my first ts600 that died on me.

Yeah it doesn't sound good! @Marshydro have been good with their warranties (at least with the people i know at AFN) - Hopefully Tina will be able to help you with a more reliable unit!

Safety first!!

Is it possible that it is dripping down from your filter or other ducting rather than being generated by the light? I think that the aluminum back of the light is unlikely to produce that sort of material. The foaming might be a result of it being acidic, not from it being generated where you see it.

No, it is oozing from the light. I believe it is foaming from the heat the light produces. It’s frying basically

If you wipe the spot as clean as you can, do you see a hole through the aluminum all the way to the underside? If you do, the led assembly is producing the acid and it has eaten all the way through the heat sink. If there is no hole through the aluminum, I cannot understand how the aluminum surface could produce that stuff on its own.
