What's the deal with Mars changing to using their own brand driver on fc and fce models?

Anyone? I told them how can they even compete with Spider farmer then? At least let you pay to upgrade the driver. Having a no name brand driver on say a $7-800 light is a joke and makes me nervous.

Why "nervous"?

What comes to mind for me is that they are innovative and/or that they are responsive to customer demand.

Innovative how? Nervous because a cheap driver can have electrical issues which could in turn leaf to fire.

Should have read more like this…

Mars established the reputation of the FC series using a meanwell driver, then switched to a cheaper unproven component in an effort to increase profits for themselves at the potential deficit of product quality/longevity for their customers. I personally won’t be recommending the FC series anymore as my FCe3000 isn’t representative of what a consumer will receive now, shame as it’s a great light too. Shady marketing tactics

Can you tell us the brand\model name for the new driver ? They could still be good drivers you know, Meanwell isn't the only company making good drivers. You can get excellent drivers made for you in China if you pick the right OEM. Migro also does this, i got a Zhonhen driver on my "old" Migro light and it's a really good driver, not saying it's better or completely on par with Meanwell but it's really nice, the efficiency is really good(up to 93%), it's all metal case, water resistant and has a nice big dimmer button on the side, 5 yr warranty. I like it. Just sayin...

No I hear you and I agree with that. It's just a Mars hydro brand driver. Lg-led solutions specifically, who is Mars hydro. When you dim at 25% or lower the dimmer whines. Also the dimmer is better on the sp3000
