Mea culpa. My understanding was that they were offering it as an option. Hack out my comments about them offering it as an option and I still see that as a win-win. If a consumer doesn't want to purchase a light with a house brand driver, that's completely up to them. You realize the whole point of my initial posting is that they did drop the name brand and only offer the house brand. There is no option. I'm all for offering both. That's the problem, they don't. I've agreed several times yet you continue to quote me. Of course I don't know if it's a POS driver, rebranded meanwell or a better product. That's just it, I have no idea and don't want to be the guinea pig. I also don't like how they just shipped a light with the house brand driver and said nothing. I think if a company changes a major component on an existing product it needs to be listed somewhere noticable. Grow light depot didn't know this either and they still a ton of lights so there listing is totally misleading.

I understand that completely and that doesn't sway me from giving them credit for making a lower cost product. When I checked the web site this AM, I didn't see any mention of the driver. Of course, I might have skipped right over it.

If the product description states that it's a MeanWell, you should get a MeanWell. Unless there's a caveat in the fine print that they can substitute piece parts then they're moving into "bait and switch", which is illegal.
