New Grower Male photoperiod plants

Cheers man!

Yeah they just started dropping pollen Im gona chuck them for a few days now. So you dont think its anything to worry about?

Its Papaya, nl5 x haze and Critical Mass
(The female Papaya smells just amazing fruity)
I don't want to mislead you because I am no expert when it comes to genetics. I saw the pistils and thought that as long as it was not a female that turned hermie you should be fine but some googling later and I proved myself wrong. If it is a male showing female parts it is a hermie. Someone named Grapestreet said it well on another forum.

Quick reasoning behind WHY you don't keep hermie pollen.

Genetics 101:

MM - True Male, does not express hermaphroditic traits
FF - True Female, does not express hermaphroditic traits
MF - False Male. (Probably what you got) may hermie to produce calyxes and pistils.
FM - False Female. may hermie to produce pollen pouches.

So it would seem that you have a false male with hermie pollen and probably shouldn't be used. Hopefully someone that actually knows this stuff will find this thread and enlighten us.

Hi Bum
Pollinat only a lower bunch and see what you got, it looks like the male herm in late flower.
i would give them a try and test it.
save some of the pollen if the seeds are good you can use them for other projects if not put them in the dust.
