What's up AFN? Ive been a member for awhile but I haven't posted a journal here in a long time. Started out with auto's and have since moved on to feminized photo periods. The set up has also evolved over time as well. Anyways.. without further ado here's:

Mac N Jelly and Jelly Breath s1:

Week 1

Planted on: 1/11/22
Popped: 1/15/22

I usually do a run of 2 buckets but this time I stepped it up to 4 buckets, 2 of each strain. Go big or go home. If one is FUBAR at some point ill just keep moving forward with what I have.
I count Monday as the beginning of week 1 for them. All 3 are doing decent except for one of the Jelly breaths. I tried giving her a chance, but unfortunately she got yanked on Tuesday and got replaced by another bean. Leaving the half pack i bought with 2 beans left out of 5 already. Kind of sucks but it is what it is I guess.
I have moved my lights down more as well in an attempt to not get too much stretch

Quick Lil update:

The replacement Jelly breath popped as of yesterday and is looking good. I know she's a week behind but I'm just gonna go ahead and lump her in with the others when documenting.

And we officially have roots on one of the Mac N Jelly's. I'm hoping the rest will follow suit soon.

Week 2 inhouse genetics indoor photo periods
Mac N Jelly and Jelly Breath s1:

Week 2
Over this past weekend Mac N Jelly #1 officially hit the res with her roots. She is looking to be the best out of the bunch so far size wise etc. I've still been waiting for the other ladies to follow suit. Mac N Jelly #2 has some roots just starting to come down but hasnt hit the res yet. I'm unsure if they are all just slow growers or if the newer lids I have made some sort of difference. I usually have roots hitting the res within a week. So what I've been doing is after I ph the buckets, I grab a syringe and basically top feed them, and get their root riot cubes wet so they dont dry out. This is something I haven't had to do in awhile, as like I've stated I've never had any issues with roots hitting the res or growth especially in DWC. I also topped up the buckets a tad higher but still left an air gap between the water and bottom of the lids. The environment is fairly consistent at 80-85° F with the humidity in the mid 40s to 50s. I'd like the humidity to be higher but the cold weather also plays a hand in that, as well as having a dehumidifier and flower tent in the same room. I like growing in the winter time better overall though as my air temps can be controlled better. The newer Jelly breath that I replaced the dead/dying one with hit the ground running. Week 3 is when I start to notice them take off, so I hope this will be the same case although it's been more slow going than usual runs. I did happen to read another journal stating they've also noticed slower growth. Could be genetics perhaps...? All I know it's been 9 days (as of Monday) so far and I haven't seen any roots from 2 out of the original 3. Not time to hit the panic button yet, but something to take note of. I did put domes over them to keep the humidity up and to cube the cubes from drying out so fast. As of Tuesday I am now starting to see roots coming down to the res. So they needed way more humidity than what I was giving them is all..
Anywho..

I added:
Rapid start
hydroguard
and silicablast
to all buckets so far

Inhouse genetics
Mac N Jelly and Jelly Breath s1:

Week 3
Two weeks ago to this day (currently Saturday as i write this) we finally have some roots shooting down. The domes I put back over them helped so I pretty much chalk the slower growth up to a humidity issue. I like the humidifier I have mainly because it has a thermostat but I think it's not running as efficiently as it was. I had it set to 70°F and im just cracking 50°F RH on a good day. The average is mid 40's. It does get to 60°F with the lights off. Adding more humidity in the winter is pretty crucial in my area. Spring through the beginning of fall I put the dehumidifier to use more often. From here I anticipate more growth from everyone now, and will stay keeping an eye on the humidity.

Mac N Jelly:
#1 is taking off like a champ and I feel filling water up to the bottom of the lid has encouraged more root growth and development. Something I wasn't quite doing before
Wednesday evening she was fed base nutes at: 2-2-2 along with silicablast, hydroguard, and calmag
#2 roots finally hit the bucket after two weeks of waiting and babying her. The dome is off at this point
I fed her base nutes at: 1-1-1 along with silicablast, hydroguard, and calmag

Jelly breath:
#1 roots hit the res in a matter of a week, so the dome came off. She's leaning towards the stronger light so I keep rotating the lid so she can grow straighter.
#2 this ones roots are still slightly behind the others but the dome is off and she should be alright. I noticed some rust looking spots on an old leaf but see none on the newer growth.
I fed both of these with base nutes of 1-1-1 along with silicablast, hydroguard, and calmag

Week 4
After a slow start, things are starting to take off and they are looking healthy. I feel once the roots established themseleves and they got their first little feeding is when the ball really started rolling. The plan is to cater to these in a delicate manner. Give em what they need but not to overdo it. "Kobe cannabis" as I like to say..
As of Thursday morning all look great and are really showing improvement in growth by the day.

This one remains the star of the tent at this point. I've taken a total of 4 leaves off of her and cut 2 bottom branches as I won't need them later anyways. She was topped Monday evening and has already bounced back like nothing happened. As of Thursday morning she looks great and is exhibiting even more growth. I may have to top her side branches to slow her down til the others catch up.

Started to come around and is establishing a decent root mass. She's showing that her stem is shedding so that's encouraging to see. Her ppm to me seems kinda high for the size, but i dont notice any bad reactions. Although she is still the runt of the bunch. She's got a home in the tent

I cut off 4 fan leaves that were blocking the light from the lower branches. Upon cutting them I was met with a very pleasant aroma. She's looking healthy and her root mass is building up

Also cut off 4 of the fan leaves to let more light in, and was met with the same aroma that her sister gave off. Roots look great. Ppms seem a tad high but she's doing fine.

Week 5 inhouse genetics indoor grow
Mac N Jelly and Jelly Breath s1:

Week 5
We have arrived at week 5. The ladies are really taking off at this point, and i have moved the lights up. As of Wednesday evening I defoliated all of them, and got rid of some of the lower growth and big fan leaves blocking out light. 3 more weeks to go til I flip. I've flipped on week 7 before but I'm using every bit of 8 weeks this run.

She looked droopy the last couple days. I had no clue why. Wednesday when I was defoliating her I noticed she was real wobbly and leaning hard to one side. I tried to gently move her to straighten her up and her root broke off and she came right out. Somehow, someway, her root ended up breaking. God knows when originally and how it happened. I think she tried to regrow a different root, but I dont know for sure. I have tried filling my buckets higher for more root mass. I thought maybe that resulted in a soft or rotted stem. It didnt look rotted to me and after researching of course i got 100 different answers on how high to fill a bucket blah blah blah. I am also using new lids and the root riot cubes sit in them differently. So in a nut shell who fucking knows. The stress she had also could explain why I possibly seen a nanner forming. This sucks but gonna have to face the reality that she gone...

MOVING ON......

#2
Hitting her stride now showing new growth by the day. She was just topped last Friday. Bounced back from it like nothing. I'm hoping to see her side branches get more developed and I feel they will. She also required another feeding. Wasn't bad to defoliate at all. I do notice the top of her main stem seems a little weak. I'll keep an eye on it

She is the one that's a week behind but you couldnt ever really tell at this point. As of Wednesday I topped her and defoliated. I must say her growth looks kind of weird. She's starting to eat so I bumped up my base nutes a tad.

This one got topped last Friday as well. She's nice and green, and looking healthy. Was the easiest to defoliate although I did notice uneven growth with bud sites. Hoping that opening her up will help with that. Her ppms are higher than the rest for her size but she doesn't seem to mind it.

Week 6
And then there were 3..
All of them are really starting to fill out the tent and getting real bushy. You cant even tell i defoliated them. I'm gonna have to give them another defoliation pretty soon. Maybe give them one good defoliation a week before the flip. Give em some time to recover before I make the switch. All are pretty much even height wise

Looks #1 although she's technically #2. She's making her late sister proud. Great spacing and a fairly even canopy. The light penetration will be easily achieved with her.

I noticed she could use some lst so I started using a couple of these element essentials red training clips to open her up a little. I've also just recently been very lightly pinching her and manipulating which way she goes. She's been pretty easy in that regard. Definitely promising. I'll continue to open her up. She's had a few random brown spots on some older leaves but nothing on the new growth.

Week 7
I've come to a point where the decision has been made to flip them sometime this week. I have defoliated all 3 of them and am giving them a few days to recover. I want them as healthy as possible. The nerve wracking part for me comes soon, and that is to look for any potential balls that inhouse has been sort of known for now. I've already been doing daily checks.

Looks good and I think I'm already seeing her showing signs of wanting to flower..? She's nice and open and ready to roll. I gave her nutrients the other night, and she seems like she wants to keep eating. I just don't wanna push too much

Great structure. I'm glad I tried to do some training to her as her branches are pretty stiff now. So I think I'm pretty much done in that department. She's been one I've been keeping my eye on the most for different growths on her branches but it's too early to tell just yet what any of it could be.

She was the last to be defoliated. She looked kind of droopy for whatever the reason. Plus she looks pale. I hope she recovers by the time I flip. I gave her some nutrients Tuesday night. As of Wednesday it appears as if she's perking up. Could've just been hungry, low on nitrogen, and possibly sensitive to the lights more than the other 2. Maybe a combo of it all. Note: calmag was also added
