New Grower Lucy's Very First Grow - Ak48 auto in soil LED

Rollin I have a thread in the infirmity about this that Waira has given feedback on. He thinks it's deficiencies.
It's tough getting used to the nutrients. I use seaweed tonic to aid with recovery from my mess ups. I give it every watering lol.

hmm 1/4 feeds and 1/2 feeds mixed in with just plain waters, points more to a def than a tox.
the infirmary is a great place to hang out and read stuff, its not the place for eejits like me to speak, its easy enough to make myself look stupid. Waira knows the latin names for things ive never even heard of.my best advice is listen carefully to everything they have to say.
good luck n keep er lit.

The big fans always get used up near the end, plant is doing what its supposed to do. I think your feed has been good, just needs a boost for bloom. I have always fed lighter myself. You are doing fantastic, keep it up!

@Ripper @trailanimal you guys should be watching Lucy, doing good.

Had to call a couple friends here, they tolerated me my first grows . You dont mind company do u :smokeout:
roger that!, I'll be back!

I probably did a dumb thing today. My original plan was to grow out these 2 autos and when they are drying I was going to start 2 Laughing Buddhas (photos) from Barneys Farm. I've never smoked LB but it's one of those bucket list things. There is nowhere I can buy it so I'll grow it. Yesterday I started them even tho my first grow is only 2 weeks old. I am creating a potential hassle for myself if the autos don't finish on time. Worst case is I end up with huge photo sativas because I have to keep them in veg so long. I plan to top them heavily anyway so hopefully I can keep them below 6 feet tall lol.

I am nervous about the photos but I am also having more fun ....for now :p

I've got a monkey on my back with the seed buying. It's just so much fun to shop for new ones. I will never admit to how many I have already LOL. I'm blaiming it on the freebies heh.
cheers Lucy! you got it on ya now:vibe:
Day 33 - The New Tent

The new tent is up and running. This is probably the best $350 I will spend on this project. It's a Vivosun 4X4X7' with a 6inch Vivosun carbon filter & fan, couple small fans & a nifty wireless temp/hygrometer. All very nice stuff and super easy to set up. Now I can have my LEDSs up a high as I need. :joy:

I am bringing lots of fresh cool air into a 14X14' room and using passive intake to the tent. I am exhausting to the back of the room that the tent is in.
I'm a little confused about why the negative pressure in the tent does not suck the sides in since this fan/carbon combo should be plenty strong enough to do that in a tent of this size. Even on the highest fan setting I don't get this effect but if I put my hand over the intake squares I feel plenty of air being pulled over my hands. So I guess it's ok ? Maybe I should contact Vivosun and see what they think?

I am in New England so with how I am set up I will have to constantly monitor temps and adjust the outside room temp accordingly. It's a heated room that runs cooler than the rest of the house because my heater's thermostat is very far away and I don't think the heating ducts in this particular room are working at optimum capacity. It should be ok.
Bringing in fresh air will be my problem as the weather get's colder. I may find that growing between December and March is not gonna work and that's ok. I'll have to try it this year and see because my photos are going to be going until the first of the year. I guess I'll find out soon.

At the moment the outdoor air is 64F, the room air is 72F and the tent is 76F inside. The intake fan for the room has a thermostat so it turns on and off depending on what I set it for. I am hoping this will help at night when the temps fall down to 55 or so.....for now. I am not sure what I will do when outside temps fall lower. Like everything else......I will cross that bridge when I come to it :p

that tent isa cool tool
Day 35

I'm a little concerned about stinky gurl today, she's looking droopy. I don't think I have under watered as she has gotten water every 3 days. She seemed bone dry every time but I can't imagine that I need to water more. I might have over watered, not sure. She hasn't looked great since I put her in the tent. Her leaves are quite dark so I am thinking plenty of Cal-mag & nutes. Both plants have a little bit of nute burn on the tips but it's not too bad.

The variegated plant actually looks better than stinky gurl at this point. Despite getting the same amount of water, nutes and light she looks good. No drooping at all and she continues to fill out where as stinky gurl seems stalled and a bit scraggly looking over all. Definitely not the size that other people's are at this age. I guess I'll have lots of improvements to make on the next grow. :stir:

I'm starting to think that I seriously don't know what I am doing LOL.
About this time plants begin to really suck down water to power growth. Learning watering is part of that learning curve you mentioned.
Day 48 and all is well.
Stinky is a handful with the LST as her leaves are like palm fronds. The variegated plant is much easier to control. Her general structure naturally exposes bud sites.

I'm really glad that I went with the 4 X 4 tent. I hemmed and hawed because I wanted a 2 X 4 (or two) but things would be crowded even with only two plants. Even with the 4 X 4 I can't imagine fitting more than 4 plants in there during flower. I like using big pots. It feels safer.

I'ma dirt bag, compost and dry organics, know nothing of liquid feeds. I see you have capable hands assisting you! Grow Learn Share! Your next grow will have you kinda amazed at how much you learned this go round.

Day 62
I can't believe it is day 62 already. It flew by !

I did receive the Flower Fuel yesterday and fed early in the day ( yaaay for Sunday deliveries). I gave a 1/3rd dose because I hadn't yet seen Waira's post saying that I should give a 2/3rds dose at this point.

I went out for the day and evening yesterday to get my mind off all of the yellowing leaves. So when I came home from work today it was about 33 hours since giving the new bloom booster. I was afraid to look in the tent and when I did look, at first I thought something really horrible had happen to Stinky. Her buds had turned all white. I was like " What the HELL now I have light bleaching to boot?" I was practically in tears until I looked a little closer.

She isn't bleached she is freaking COVERED with sugar! Yaaay. The large leaves that were very yellowed are clearly going to die and I've already removed a few but man just look at those TRICHOMES!

I think they are going to be ok. Even the Variegated plant has trichomes now, They're just starting on her but she had none at all until now.
They both seemed to handle yesterday's feeding without burning up.

Thanks to everyone here that has been offering so much support. It is much appreciated.
