New Grower Lucy's Very First Grow - Ak48 auto in soil LED

Well here's a surprise. I'm going to be busy working long hours for the next two weeks so I decided to fill the pots for my next grow today while I have the time. I bought this Happy Frog soil in late summer, used some and then put it in the shed secured with a heavy tie-wrap. I start dishing out the soil into my pots and see this.........the soil is chock full of acorns. That wouldn't be surprising as I have tons of the grey devils in my yard all year long but there are no holes anywhere in the bag and the top was tightly sealed. I had to cut the tie-wrap off it was so tight.

I swear that squirrels are mechanical geniuses ! The bastids !

Does anyone know if this soil is ok to use now? I imagine it is since none of the acorns have broken down at all. They are all pretty fresh.
I guess I should thank the little bastards since I won't have to rake acorns in the spring BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL IN MY HAPPY FROG NOW !!

OMG that is hysterical! I would have loved to see how they managed that!

Awww you guys are too nice :thanks:

I jarred up the variegated plant today. It wasn't double the weight of Stinky which is surprising because it took me dayyyyyyys to trim this one up. I did it across 3 evenings and it felt like a lot more work.

107 grams, pretty much 4 full jars. I guess this concludes my first grow

Thanks to everyone who came along for the ride. Your guidance and encouragement has made all the difference. Everything that I learned was from these forums.

Aw congratulations Lucy! So happy for you! Bravo! What a great experience, is it not? You must be thrilled!

How would you rate the quality of the bud compared to what you had been smoking before? Do you plan on getting any weed you didn’t grow yourself in the future?

Tag me in to your next grow, I’d love to follow along. :cooldance:

It's better than almost anything I've had. I had recently purchased some that was outrageously expensive .....like $100 for one small bud. No clue what it was but it was very similar to what I've just grown. That's not saying much though because I've never known what I am smoking and never had a good source. I'm not exactly a connoisseur and I have possibly been getting crap.

I am extremely pleased with what I've just grown. I've got plenty and it tastes & smells good and has really good potency (from my limited experience).

Now that shops are open here I might possibly visit one just to sample various kinds. You know, buy 1 gram of several different types just to see what I like best.. The problem with that idea from what I've seen so far is that the shops are growing their own and naming it with their own names. That makes it hard to try white widow, durban poison, blueberry kush or anything else that I can then turn around and grow myself. Other than that, no I can't see any reason to buy it.

@Rebel would you mind giving a first grow badge? Lucy did a great job and needs something to fill the space!
