Fast Buds LSD 25 Auto (Fast Buds) - Strain Review

Short review
A couple of these ladies were part of the line-up for my second grow. To cut a long story short, I was not disappointed!

Here is an overview...

Seedbank
Fast Buds (USA) via Gorilla Seeds (UK)

Did she autoflower?
Yes: around the end of week 3.

Medium
Biobizz light mix soil - 60%
Perlite - 40%
Pots - 10L

Nutrition & additives
Voodoo Juice, Piranha, Tarantula, Iguana Juice grow/bloom, Ancient Earth, Nirvana, Sensi Cal/Mag+, Rhino Skin, Bud Candy. All feed and additives were by Advanced Nutrients.

Light
Sunmaster Grow+ 600w dual spectrum HPS (18/6 throughout)

Seed to harvest
14/10/15 – 27/12/15 (75 days/10.7 weeks)

Dry yield
Plant 1 (Purple) = 29.61g
Plant 2 (Green) = 28.43g

Notes on flavour & aromatics
Plant 1 was stinky and spicy. Her flavour spicy at first, then into diesel on the exhale. Plant 2 was fumey, but in a more menthol manner. She was minty or like eucalytus to the taste.

High/effect
Hits within a few minutes, and hard! Gives way to a mellow/dreamy stone.

***NOTE*** It’s ~19% THC and not worth taking lightly. Overuse is certainly possible. Very handy for agitation, but be careful if depressed as I found her quite sedating (but we are all different, please take care).

Creative and conversational in a recreational context.

For my second grow, I wanted to try something purple. I’d always wanted to, but never had the opportunity as nothing is ever available. I took matters into my own hands and chose LSD 25 to start my purple odyssey. Also, she came recommended for beginners. I was expecting plenty of errors and she needed to have my back!

LSD 25 is a gorgeous strain. She’s colourful and very fragrant, so adequate ventilation and filtration are essential! Out of the two I grew, only one went fully purple as expected. The other remained predominantly green. However, she explodes into purple and green on the grind; It really is quite beautiful. The greener of the two also tastes milder, more eucalyptus/mint than diesel. It’s delicious, especially through the vaporiser and was definitely a pleasant surprise. The purple is spice that gives way to diesel on the exhale. Both taste and smell great and both performed well. Even at the mercy of my newbie hands!

Plant 1 ~week 5/6

The high that you’ll experience will come on fast and hit pretty hard. Heavy users will be fine, but casual users should take care and expect to feel medicated soon after the first few hits. For me it started at the eyes and temples, then quickly to the rest of the body. She’s a warm and pleasant strain and you’ll soon be nicely baked into a relaxing, dreamy stone. Over do it and you’ll likely fall asleep! I use MJ for medical reasons and found it very helpful when I needed to calm down a bit. She’s quite heavy on the THC at ~19%, but the ~1.1 % CBD ensures the ride is nice and smooth after the rapid take off. Be careful if you are experiencing depressive symptoms of any kind, her sedating properties could leave you feeling drained. For recreational use I would describe her as creative and conversational. I’m writing this under the influence and having a jolly good time! Don’t expect to do much moving though.

Plant 2 ~week 5/6

Over the grow I had plenty of issues, heat, over feeding and an incident of under-watering, but she didn’t let me down. She is every bit as hardy as Fast Buds say, and despite my mistakes I still got a couple of jars of quality medicine. I’m planning on giving her another try when I have more experience, that way I can try and get the best out of her. For now though, I’m pretty made up with LSD 25. I’m sure you will be too.
