Hey Frank, check out this drying and curing guide: AutoFlower Network - Forum Home - The time we all work so hard for.

I've found that the smell is more greener and grassier after cutting. Once the flowers are dried out and begin curing, the cannabis smell comes back and becomes stronger. The plant has to release the moisture and chlorophyll gases before it locks in that aroma we know and love. I think if you dry too fast you run the risk of the buds permanently smelling like hay or grass.

IMO two days is not long enough to dry properly, so you're probably still smelling wet plant matter.

Once it starts to cure the smell will come back. If you cure it properly.

That being said some plants just don't have much of a smell when dry, or the smell can change.

He's right! you don't want to quick dry your buds. That can make it harsh to smoke. You can trap starches and chlorophyll. You also won't cure the terps properly which will lessen the fragrance of the buds.

I agree with Andy & Bailer - quick drying cheats you effectively out of the flavour. Good quality bud takes time but it's well worth being patient for!

Dry for like 5 days, whenever stems crack, then throw em in a glad plastic container while you smoke it, bud will smell again in like a week

Sometime harvesting too soon will cause that. How many weeks had she gone? What strain?

it was an onyx it went about 67 68 days almost all hairs were red

You may have picked it a little too soon. In my experience most go 11-12 weeks and the buds fatten up a lot in those last couple of weeks.
