Looking for something I can't find

A while back I saw some pics somewhere of a grow that used some kind of plate on top of their medium. It had a hole in the center for the plant stem, and grooves and holes for watering. It looked great for watering in tight places, as it would evenly distribute the water over the entire surface. I've googled and googled but can't find anything like what I saw. Any idea what I'm talking about? Thanks!
