Hey All..

I'm a grower in Alberta, Canada. Been watching on the forums for years but with legalization now a thing here, i'm getting all prepped for the upcoming spring season of 2019.

I'm going to make this as KISS as possible. Going with @pop22 soil mix in one of the forum posts with the exception of swapping out the Composted Cow Manure for composted Sheep Manure. Both the sheep and chicken manure to be harvested have been broken down out of the rain in shelters for a few years.

Base mix, Equal parts:
coco coir
organic potting soil
composted Sheep manure (From Farm)

Admix:
30% worm castings
30% composted chicken manure (From Farm)
15% azomite
20% recycled soil
5 % dolomite or garden lime
1/2 cup blood meal

1 part admix to 4 parts base.

Should I add a KIS organics pack or can it be skipped? open to ordering one.

Could use some thoughts on this and any improvements or suggestions.

Mix will be for outdoor Autoflowers. I'll be running some in the greenhouse and outdoors. I'm leaning at this point towards Tangiematic and FastBerry by Fastbuds. Probably running them in 7 gallon and 15 gallon fabric pots. Prob running a Pakistan Valley Kush (Photo) as well since I can get the clones and its a great friggen smoke.

Welcome everyones thoughts. I meditate with about 4oz a month of smoke, so i'm hoping I can provide my own herb in the near future.

Looking forward to hearing from everyone.

Kind Regards

well the mix looks fine if you were going to grow low feeding plants or similar.however with your KIS pack a seriously recommend will bring your mix and grow to another level.use your Manures and additions to make some booster teas as well and I think you will do excellent with the KIS pack all mixed and blended. Then Teas?yeah buddy! BOOM!!I might consider mixing half coco and perlite maybe for possible better aeration but the coco works too.if its too heavy might need a little perlite.but wait till its mixed I suppose.and 5-7 gallon should be all you need for Autos unless one or more are very large semi autos maybe.I would recommend 5 gallon pots IMO for an outdoor Auto grow.much larger than a 7 might IMO be a waste. Hopefully this helps you.

Appreciate your thoughts on this matter @Eyes on Fire. I'll have to order up a nutrient pack for sure. Reason I had decided on the larger air pots for outside is because they were calling for 10-12 gallon containers for outdoor TangieMatic. I'll go with the smaller pots as you suggest, perhaps with 30% Pearlite to final Base + Admixture?

I'll be starting the Auto's inside for 3 weeks in 1 Gallon Insta-Transplant Containers I'll be making up. (Think 9 inches across and 10 deep) then them directly into final homes for remaining time period.

Thanks for your thoughts and help too @Rolling_along

My pleasure. To be truthful dude? I have grown Trangelo Rapido and other Orangey types of herbs Auto and Photo alike. And the autos will never need more than a 5-7 gallon pot.Outside might be a little bit different story but not a huge difference though. so I would stay around 5 gallons with that mix.and in my experience they'll do well. worries about too much water or anything?stuff can get washed away of its a long slow rain so you might wanna make some covers of something.but IMO theyll do great.again, my pleasure dude,. :D Photos could easily use a 10-20 gallon pot no worries.but autos not so much bro.

If you can find something like pumice or expanded shale, instead of perlite, you won’t have issues with the perlite floating to the top in the rain. I’ve been trying to get away from perlite for that reason. Unfortunately, pumice and expanded shale is kinda pricey where I’m at. I heard the pumice is cheap at landscape supply houses in some places. Might be worth a look
