Usually it will loosen up over time. On my tent, I installed the mount when it was pretty new. It was tight AF at first, but is fine now.

I think in the end i didnt trust pole clips, falling off and snapping a heavy main cola.. BTW, the Hurricane's were priced around $40 each.. cheaper than some of those premium 6" fans.

When I am growing during the hot months I keep all fans below the lights. When Winter comes I need the extra heat being in the basement and move them above the lights. I am guessing that I am not the only one doing this? I have been so crowded this grow I have the tent doors open and fans have been moved outside the tent. This gave me the thought that I should just leave the tent doors open and run an 8 or 10inch carbon filter in the room for odor instead.
Oh yeah thanks for the reps as well! And yeah, the hurricane is $41 right now. I got mine on sale at Amazon for $31.
One note about the Ramblin Man mount. It’s not so much of a clip. It’s 2 separate mounts made out of two separate pieces each that bolt together onto the poles. And the top portion of the mount has a clip on it for the clip on the fan. It’s robust. That’s pretty much how he makes all of his fan mounts now.

I only really mounted mine above my lights because my Atreum bars are pretty much 4’ wide. I’ve got about an inch on either side of the bars to the tent walls. I love them, highly recommend! Pretty much perfectly even light across the tent.
Downside to that is a big fan would block out a good chunk of light. So I mounted above.
I don’t like to leave my tent doors open a lot. But do for an hour or so when I feed. A couple fans on the floor blowing up into the lower canopy, the hurricane and a massive 8” exhaust is what I do. And I keep the lower canopy as stripped as possible until it gets too packed in there.
Unfortunately, I paid cash.
Dunno if anyone can use it but I was just checking the pricing on the hurricanes. If you can fit a 16” it’s $29 right now. That’s a pretty big fan. But if you can fit it, I think it’s a great price.

Too bad it's not the 12in.
One of their Pro fan floor models looks like the "King of Fans" I've had since 05. It was mainly for cooling my drag car between rounds/ I could cool my car to the proper level in 10 min after hitting the pits. Bad ass little fan.
