Looking for opinions on my soil mix.

I found a small box (about 1 1/2 cups) of powdered lime at one of the stores, but it was 8 bucks. Considering I'll need about 20x that amount, it's not an option. The bag I mentioned before is also $8. Slightly more cost effective. I guess I'll keep looking, and if I can't find a more suitable product I think I'll have to settle for the granular lime.

Also, it is granulated, not pelleted. There may be a difference, then again, maybe not. I'll have to take a look at it.

Did some web surfing and phone calling, and I think I have found what I need. A 33lbs bag of granular dolomitic limestone.
From what I've read, I should be using about 1 cup of it per gallon of mix. Problem solved.
This is dolomite. I use and prefer the pelleted for mixing in TLO... it will not work well to feed plants with but it does work well for feeding microbes. One cup per gallon sounds like too much, though. I'd feel much more comfortable at a rate of 1-2cups/5gals of mix. If you use this, it will absolutely have to cook to be effective... 3 weeks, absolute minimum. :peace:

I thought 1 cup/gal sounded high. Thanks for the help testerx!:spark:
