I have so much go to waste I have tried for years to give it to the local food banks and food pantries but they won't come and get it.

They said I have to pick it, wash it, and deliver it or they don't want it.

I told them they can back a truck up to any of a dozen trees and fill the truck box in minutes and that my insurance would cover anyone on my property that got hurt in case they were worried about that, they still said no.

I asked them straight out if they would prefer seeing people go hungry and have tons of food go to waste and they said yes, unless I picked it, washed it and delivered it.

I supply many many neighbor families with free food though..... It still sucks seeing tons of good organic food go to waste every year.
right, you've done the work of growing the food and they want you to feed them, I say let them feed themselves, lol, lots of leftovers for compost

No digging for me. For veggies I do raised beds up on top of wood tables. Or pots on top of wood tables.

My dogs also eat the berries and pears and peaches, they jump up and pick their own and compete with the squirrels

Oh, and I've got a couple of huge patches of wild onion as well.

Onion is supposed to be very bad for dogs but my late service dog (RIP) used to love eating the wild onions. He did it his whole life and made it past his 15th birthday which is very old for a 125 pound dog
when I lived in Montana, had a jersey named Daisy and did she love the crab apples
