Morning/Afternoon Stoners! Working from home today. Got to sleep in a bit and have a cup of coffee with the wife, before she had to leave for work. Have a few reports needing some attention, then a few errands. How is everyone doing today?:pass:
doing good with clouds and a little rain, which we really need, fire season is just a thunder bumper away

The first time I ever tried doing lst I used wire with 5/8" nuts tied on the end. I just hooked a wire over the tallest point on the plant and used the nuts for weight. I only went in small increments. Just until there was a new highest point. After the "top" became dominant tied the next highest point. Once the third top became dominant I let the first top go back in the lead. After I tied all three down below the highest point and then the magic happened. The plant was so confused as to which top was dominant it just exploded I had colas everywhere. I don't know if that's the kind of answer you were looking for but I think lst is a wonderful tool, doesn't hurt the plant and there are so many different ways to use or do it it's unbelievable. Ripper do you ever grow photoperiods. If you do you should try it out and see what happens. Or try it on an auto

I will be doing a few photos in August

If you decide you're going to try it out on a photo, look up mainlining as well. I'm working of a great tutorial I found, and it's been a lot of fun for my first time doing anything like LST or topping. Combines a little of both, so gives a good feel for how they work, in my opinion.

I will be looking into this also...as I want to do something with my think different got her on a massive lean so far...
Just seen that it said for photo though

LST and Scrog let you light the plant more evenly, and allow you to expose more bud sites and allow them to develop. I use them to get the light to the interior so that the buds that would have been little popcorn and fluff have the chance to become monsters. It does affect the height, but at least on mine, nearly every bud thinks it is a top. I have also heard that lighting more evenly creates a situation where the buds are all equally potent, rather than having more THC in the buds that got more light, or became more dominant. I cannot confirm that theory, as I have always scrogged, but it has always seemed reasonable to me.
Excellent explanation,I have done side by side comparisons in all the methods I have tried, some help and some hurt yield, what they show and prove is that no matter how limited the space( within reason) a full bushy plant can be grown with a flat even canopy that can utilize the light more efficiently, with the scrog plants,I have one that the dog topped( the shorter one) and one that was just bent to fill the scrog, same birthday, same light, same nutes, but the way they are growing shows the difference in the method used,,I had some AU plants that grew to 5.5 feet and had a lot of popcorn from no light penetration, that's when I switched grow methods ...peace

Way hey stoners time for a fat one with some Northern lights

Everything I ever do to an auto I've already practiced on a photo. I used to grow alot of bagseed just to play with. Most of the time now I have too many going and no time to play

I must admit that part of my need to test the plant and push it to see what it's capable of came from reading @pop22 's threads, the other part came from the boredom of just watching them grow.I was afraid to lst/HST cause I heard the horror stories so I had to see for myself!!
