Has anyone here ever grilled scallops before? I'm making grilled garlic butter shrimp tonight; but I've never made scallops before and wanted to try. Thaw, pat dry, then just grill with no marinade? Can you glaze a marinade while they grill?

I normally just fry mine in butter, put I can't see why you couldn't grill, the thing with scallops is you don't want to over cook them,

Yup, no marinade needed...just drizzle with a bit of olive oil before grilling. They are delicate, and can over cook very easily, so just a few minutes per side usually does the trick. You can glaze them as they cook. Once you flip them, start glazing. Let me know if you have any other questions, brother

I'm excited! The shrimp are going to be awesome too. Heck I might do some sirloin skewers too, who knows.

I'm going to pretend Gordon Ramsay is calling me a donkey the whole time I'm making them.

.

I would cook in hot hot frying pan, butter in till brown and frothy, place them in and spoon that butter over them  till brown on bottom translucent in middle

This is excellent advice...weather cooking in a skillet, or on a grill...nice color on each side, a bit translucent right in the middle is perfect. Hell, we eat em raw around here and love em that way too lol

Tomorrow we're doing a pot roast in the slow cooker with potatoes and carrots and onions.

Hi Frank,, I would also if I could get them fresh/fresh, they an expensive, not easily sourced product where I live.

Dam Frank that's snow, woods and access to fresh seafood I moving in

this may sound odd, but give it a try, you'll be amazed! marinade shrimp and scallops on A1 steaksauce! Especially shrimp. it brings out their natural flavor.
