Please forgive my very quick reply, I literally woke up and read this, I still have sleep in my eyes.
This nonsense has been being reported for years.
It all started when cannabis quality and strength of cannabis was improving due to modern selective breeding and improved indoor growing techniques in the 90's.
Skunk was just a just a buzzword for all modern strains of cannabis grown in doors! It doesn't actually mean "Skunk" the strain.
I think any of us who were smoking weed and hash in the 80's know for the most part that the imported "brick weed" which was full of seed and stalks and the Moroccan "slate" was of fairly low quality.
Modern strains in the 90's had higher THC for two reasons, one because it was carefully grown with the correct nutritional and in the best environmental conditions.
Second reason is because breeders wanted to breed better weed and were focussed on increasing resin production with higher THC levels.
This was before breeders realised that CBD was also important.
Lots of the research is biased and use "Noddy" data.
Honestly I could write a dissertation on this but I don't have the time and I don't think anyone would read it.
The press just pick up what little morsels they can find and blow it out of proportion, The red tops are the worst.
Where as the "Independent" newspaper actively supported cannabis and was know for it's Pro Cannabis Editor. Not sure what the current Editor thinks re cannabis.
These days there are a lot of scientists looking in to the health effects of cannabis and breeder are growing balanced THC/CBD strains as well as CBD only strains.
High doses of THC can make you paranoid, If you can actually ride the wave and not worry it can be quite an exhilarating experience. Inexperienced users would most likely find it a troubling experience.
15 year olds have a ton of shite going on, yup puberty is bitch.
15 year olds who don't smoke weed are still freaked out by the world and get depressed etc.

When a news article reports on modern cannabis being bad for teenagers, maybe it should mention the study cites - The acute effects of synthetic intravenous Delta-9- tetrahydrocannabinol on psychosis, mood and cognitive functioning.
None of us are injecting artificial THC!!!!

So much I haven't said but when legislation is finally considered in the UK, I know this study will be brought forth by the rabid naysayers.
However the push for legalization will be bolstered by new more informed studies from the States & Canada etc, that will debunk the myths in this report from Kings College.
The longer the UK leave addressing legalization of cannabis, the more empirical data there will be to support it being legalised.

The UK has what is called "The baby boomer generation" kids that were born when Daddy got home from the Second World War".
This was a generation that occured in a tidal wave of new births all at the same time.
These are the same people who voted for brexit. They are rabidly against all change but they are also a force, which will not be with us so much in the next 10-20 years as, they are all reaching the end of their lives.
These naysayers will not be here to stop cannabis laws changing, all we have to do is wait!
Until then expect more stories like this to pop up, because the older generation have no idea what they are talking about and don't want to know, they will just keep hanging on to the lies they are told.

I grew up by an Airforce base I was very fortunate that I had allot of Jamacian friends too. I was getting primo black hash jamacian lambsbreath and other crazy equatorial strains, Plus my dad was ww2 vet to boot who was hurt badly in the battle normandy and when healing up in london was turned onto Black hash lol. He took me to my first concert supertramp breakfast in America. I had to watch the old boy did not find my stash or he would take half of it lmao He passed in 2002. He was given another medal by the mayor of the town they liberated during the war in 1995. I was a baby boomer with a hipster daddio what a chilld hood LMAO. You guys still have people in your goverment that think it will give men breasts from a hormone imbalance that is just too bad

same here Mossy the news makes all these negative claims about Canna, then why is it i never heard of violence at the Nimbin Mardi Grass, but other events there is violence even deaths. Other stories mention cannabis then they will say also had alcohol or some other drug its these that cause the problems, not the canna. Sound a nice strong strain lol or one the media made up lol

It is possible we do have politicians who have no idea about cannabis.
However it seems most of them smoked it a university.
Our last prime minister was married to one of the largest shareholders in G.W Pharmaceuticals, who make "Sativex".
G.W Pharmaceuticals is one of the largest cannabis based medicine companies in the world and have a licence to grow cannabis in the UK.
So it is not really the politicians that don't know about cannabis.
A number of our political parties want it legalised.
It is the ignorant masses and our nanny state health service that keep it from being legalised along with the fact that, many of the politicians have shares in G.W Pharma and they want their dividends to keep rolling in.
There are far too many sheep in the UK public, who know not, what they talk about.
They just read the right wing news rags who love to sensationalize drugs and anything else the morons want to shout about.
Legalisation of cannabis will come to the UK it is looking like it will take 10 years.
No one ever thought the USA would see legal states but it has happened.
I don't think it is "just too bad" we have idiot politicians, just show me a country where they don't have idiot politicians.
Legalisation of cannabis comes from the public pushing for it and then voting for it.
Politicians these days are "Career Politicians" as opposed to "Conviction politicians" so all they care about is votes, so they just support whatever they think will get votes.
However due to public pressure we do have "legalized Medical Cannabis" which is how America got the ball rolling.
We have a national health system which is slowing everything down, with a private health sector as America has, there are plenty of Doctors who were willing to give out a medical marijuana card, for the price of the consultation.
Right now though the best model is Canada, where it has been legalized country wide.
The Canadians are also a good role model to the world, polite, hard working folk, low levels of violence etc and they are a member of the the British commonwealth, so let's hope, politicians take note!

On an interesting note, Jamaicans traditionally refer too long sativa colas as "Lamsbread" due to them looking like lambs tails and which needed cutting into portions to sell as often they were to long for a customer to buy a whole one. A carving knife would be used to do this, which is where the "bread" part of the name came from. Lambsbreath is a derivation of that name. I took a lot of time to research this as my old handle was "Lamsbread" without a "b" another derivation you could say.
