GADANG GNATTS!
We are constantly battling mould here, constantly spraying or bleaching. Contractors took a lot of shortcuts in the 80's on the Wet Coast, when this was built.
So what baffles me is that I didn't realize it until my daughter told me about seeing lots of tiny flies in the kitchen.
I have been waging a losing battle with fungus gnats. They must thrive on mold and mildew. A lot of seedlings have been lost over the last long while, recently a Barney's LSD Auto that I have been waiting forever to grow.
This time I:
Put mosquito pucks in the water
Set sticky sticks around the plants
Top dressed with Diatomaceous earth
Still, the little buggers won.
I picked up some Killz paint for one corner of the closet. It's supposed to be good at killing and sealing mold.
And for the whole home I thought of trying ozone.
I don't want to kill the soil with peroxide, but I might just need an all-out assault on the little bug
<ahem> gers.
Any thoughts?
