Nobody here GF so I'm not familiar. Wife will go keto on and off. I was looking at the Bob's section today at the grocery store since the sourdough starter doesn't want to wake up, and noticed all the new gluten free stuff. I've used several other things from them in the past that have been good

I've been researching keto.

I get it but if she is gluten intolerant then the possible cross contamination may be enough to cause a reaction or worse the blame for cross contamination guilty or not!

Just take your household gluten free. Once you learn how and where to shop GF is not hard. You can eat all of the regular foods away from the house just don't bring it home on you.
I’m not celiac. I just have a severe gastro reaction when I consume certain foods…especially gluten. I’ve recently developed this reaction to a small (so far) variety of foods. I’m figuring it out, but not consuming any products that contain gluten. I’m making some gluten free crackers later today and bread tomorrow.

Just a few years ago GF was difficult but nowadays there is a GF replacement for most everything, some stuff you still have to make for yourself but the ingredients are readily available. It is pricier for GF ingredients but I think justifiably so. The ATK GF pie dough is equally good as traditionally made dough. Ms. MOG bakes boxed GF cakes that no one notices as GF. Chick pea tortillas not as good as flour but no wheat and they are pretty good. The list goes on and on. Dr. Prager's GF patties, they have chilies I have to avoid but are they delicious or what?
I do corn tortillas and chickpea pasta.

Just a simple 2 inch or 3 inch circle brand with that logo on it. The original idea was to iron brand the prize boxes with the AFN logo (just as something fun and neat.) I can get them custom made on amazon for under $50, or around $70-100 if I want an electric element added to it (so they don't have to be fired over flames/coals.)

The rubber stamp was significantly cheaper; but I'm waiting on the stamp to show up still and it looks like there are some things to consider when stamping unfinished wood with ink (it can be done for sure!)
Better off with acrylic paint mixed thick than ink. The paint won't run like ink will as it soaks into the wood. Cheap acrylic paint, thinned with water just enough to make it work on the stamp. My 2 cents. :pighug:

@Mossy

I don't have you a pretty flower, but I think this weed is unusual enough and is pretty!
I don't think I've seen this one before but it may be a late sprouter and she's showing colors because of the colder temps and lesser sun.

That looks like lamb's quarters in late flower, aka pigweed, aka goosefoot. The bottoms of the leaves should turn silver if you dip 'em in water. A tasty green when it's young and green, before it gets stringy. Maybe you heard the hobo song, "old pigweed"

We'll try a side-by-side!

Of course the first time through I read 'there is a GF replacement for most everything' as "there's a girlfriend replacement for most everything." I had to read it again to get it to be "gluten free replacement."

Keto is probably much easier then GF. It's basically meat and vegetables for everything
Keto is bit more than meat and veggies. I've been on keto for years to control diabetes. Gluten free is easier, IMO. Keto requires reduction of total carbs to such a low amount daily that it makes the list of acceptable foods more limited than gluten free does. Also, gluten free does not require that you get the bulk of your calories from fats and oils, keto can't work without this.

Keto isn't everyone's cuppa. It is significantly more expensive, it is a hassle when eating out or at friends' homes, and there is no such thing as close enough will do. Either you are in nutritional ketosis (you need a meter to find out), or you are not, and that is determined by whether you keep total carbs from all sources down to roughly 30 grams/day or less, which is not easy. Really, there are only two reasons to do keto, IMO - to lose weight (by far the best tool for this), or to control type II diabetes. But it will not work for either unless you control the carbs every day, day after day, eating at home or eating out. Not many people can stick to it. :pighug:

I tried eliminating a lot of things to figure out some annoying gastro issues recently. It turns out I became lactose intolerant this summer after a severe colitis and e-Coli sepsis landed me in ICU for 8 days. Now as long as I pop a lactase pill with any meal that might have dairy in it I'm OK.
