I worked this morning. Sucked the water out of my flooding basement. Took the wife's car to the shop and spent a ridiculous amount of $ to get the brakes done. Took a nap. Now I'm trying to catch up on getting stoned

Can you get the main drain line reamed out so it drains out by gravity? Around here it's usually a 4" or 6" clay pipe from the house to the city sewer. The plumber I use charged $150 to run the drain auger last time. It would prolly cost almost that to rent a drain auger from Home Depot and do it yourself, which is a lot of work, dangerous, and has a steep learning curve. Super high water table here. My well is only 30ft deep. The water comes up from underneath the basement floor. And I live on top of a "mountain" So I think the only fix is an interior perimeter drain and pump it out. Got 1 estimate a few years ago for $18k. So I'll just keep sucking it out with a shopvac for now. It's fantastic well water though

Super high water table here. My well is only 30ft deep. The water comes up from underneath the basement floor. And I live on top of a "mountain" So I think the only fix is an interior perimeter drain and pump it out. Got 1 estimate a few years ago for $18k. So I'll just keep sucking it out with a shopvac for now. It's fantastic well water though

We have some swampy neighborhoods here where they have to install a sump with an electric pump on a float switch. If the power goes out for a couple of days those basements flood.
