You know, there’s been lotsa folks having germ issues lately it seems….. and at the same time there’s been lotsa hate on the paper towel method of germing because it “rips off the small hairs” or whatever.

That argument has never sat right with me….mostly because there’s no need to take it past this point….

No hairs to rip off…. All you should be looking for is some movement, then into its home….
That’s how I do it anyway….. generally get 100% germ rate…..some beans do take longer than others… :pass:
If you plant that with the root tip pointing at the 2 or 10 0'clock position and the curve going down, you will almost never get helmet heads. In the past 3 years I have only had one helmet and it fell off on its own

I just make sure and plant them plenty deep and never have that issue :thumbsup::pass:

Yep, I've noticed if I force my seeds to grow through soil or through a plug in the top of a root plug, the seed hat comes off easier. If I sprout them in a towel and then stick them in soil to where they don't have to grow through it at all, getting that hat off requires a magnifying glass and 2 pairs of tweezers.
