I've not had it happen with the 4" cups, but the 2" net cups I would have pop through the lid, even though I drilled the hole for it with a 2" hole saw, the weight of the plant was enough to flex the plastic and let it pop through, then the whole plant is in the reservoir, and if you don't catch it in time it can be a mess.

Towards the end of the Lil Mobstar x Livers I grew, I just gave up on it and let it sit in the reservoir, there was no keeping it from popping through, and it was like a week from harvest. I said screw it, if the base decides to rot I guess I have to harvest early.

You journalling it? I'd tag along if you got a link. Mine was soaked overnight sunday and planted monday morning. Probably got a day or two but I keep checking lol
I will be when they are above soil. I like to see a tail nub before planting… just personal preference

You can just order direct from @Jean-O jeanosgentics.com he's got a 35% off sale running right now. Code OD24

I should, but I was going to buy some when I went to Seed Cellar.

Just seems cool to go buy some seeds in a store in person.

I was thinking that in the future, I would run dowels through the net cup, to prevent all the weight of the plant and LST from being on the lip around the edge of the cup. I could distribute that weight out to the full lid.

Then some eye bolts around the perimeter of the lid, to tie too.

I'm pretty rough with my LST and theres no way a binder clip would be able to hold back some of the tension I apply.
Use bamboo skewers, not hardwood dowels. Hardwood will be broken down by the nute solution. Bamboo is far more durable.
