We were really looking to put in AC since the house is 1820s and we're still on window ACs. These guys want to all basically put a heat pump in with a handler in the attic and in the basement. The main selling point is basically the heat functionality since we have an old combi boiler and radiators that's oil which is crazy expensive to run. They say we can run cool and hot with this system and it's 100% efficient at 5 degrees outside and will run until -25. That would allow us to basically just run the oil for hot water and the couple nights a year we get below 0. Heat pump system is basically about $15k cheaper then separate central air and new furnace install
So when I hear 1820s i think about the air leak issue. Sometimes you save more sealing everything up and keeping your old window units. U may even notice you're taking one out once it's all sealed.

We got estimates for that today but they want to do it ducted instead of wall mounted. Comes with a 12 year warranty on parts and labor with them too. That was actually the contract I was gonna sign before i figured I'd ask around here
Specify parts, specify labor.....had one new unit installed in my first rental house I owned and after the first year the blower motor failed...only to find out it was not part of the "parts" that were covered and I would need to deal with the manufacturer on that. Who of course blamed faulty instalatition, so 3 years into it I gave up with no recourse and learned to do my own shit myself.
edit: turns out the "parts" part was the ducting they installed and pieced together...

That stuff is also great but I don’t have access to it without having it shipped so not an option so i always forget to list it! Wild bill aint but a 2 blunts drive from and he can get it cheap thru ace hardware with free drop shipping to the store! My local stores didn’t even show it as an option! :(
Mine stopped carrying it on drop ship!!!
My last COM was from Amazon and there was no shipping.
2 1 1/2cu ft bags of Stonington Blend growing media cost me $90.89
Two 1cu ft bagsof the Q1 Lobster Compost will cost ya $50.73 plus tax, but no shipping.
It's good compost, just not on the same level as the Oly
