I agree but! I also like supporting certain companies/people. Buying their seeds is a way to help pay for their labor etc.Neither would I. Even ~$10/seed is stupid expensive, but I can stomach that for a strain that looks really good. I suspect that most seed suppliers are buried in seeds that may never get sold, and the gold rush will come to an end before long. There is no way IMO that the cost of seed production can possibly justify even the current standard prices, much less the silly ones. For Pete's sake, the >1200 seeds I produced easily in this run by pollenating just three branches would retail for $12,000. The additional cost to produce them was trivial by comparison even if I allowed for labor in a commercial operation.
Seed prices will be coming down at some point. Except, perhaps for breeders like Mephisto and a handful of others producing truly exceptional and consistent higher quality results at acceptable prices.
Happy seed shopping peeps.
They are pulverized in food processor to dust then mixed in with all the other ingredients.beware pork rinds cooked crispy - they can break teeth. I wouldn't deliberately include them in meatloaf, at least not unless the loaf is cooked in a way that prevents the surface, sides, and bottom from crisping up.
I made that mistake with a recent green bean and bacon dish. One of the bacon pieces had rind that I didn't notice, and the results were obnoxious. Hard as little rocks once fried.
Good luck with the loaf!
