When you do a $1200 grocery shopping trip and have to completely empty and reorganize the whole kitchen to make everything fit. I have to ration out the snack food or else the boys will eat everything so there's a ton left in our closet, but yeah lol. I got the pantry done and hubby did 4 cabinets. Still have about 100lbs of meat to separate and vacuum seal for the freezer, plus breaking down the bulk stuff that we stuck in the deep freezer so there's some in the regular freezer handy for the kids. But 7 hours from when we started shopping till I finished the pantry was more than enough for me for the night lmao. I swear to God if these kids tell me they can't find anything to eat after this... Hubby said it looked like someone with OCD came in and redid our pantry... I'm just hoping it'll at least get us through the summer!

It needed to be done lol. We needed to restock the pantry and we hadn't stocked the deep freezer yet. Once everything is organized I should be pretty good to go for a while. Hopefully we will have a decent summer with the garden and I'll be able to have a steady supply of produce with maybe enough surplus to freeze/can for over the winter. I'm putting together plans for a full indoor "greenhouse" room, in place of the dining room. I'd like to be able to grow produce indoors year round. Would also give me a place to start working on my nursery project.

I think finally utilizing my organization stuff will help a lot too since we're all very visual and if we can't see it we forget it exists. Plus the kids are awful about closing bags and such behind them (especially like the bagels and rolls) so using a container that snaps closed will hopefully have a higher probability of it being sealed properly.

Told them they have to finish the last little bit of the cinnamon toast crunch in the last cereal container before they eat anything else so I can wash it and put in the frosted flakes

You wanna look at sprouting seeds @Suki813 ...fast cheap turn around and full nutitional value.

You could Probably Interest the Child grow slave.... :crying: ..jam jars...sprinkle on everything...the kids might be more interested if they can grow them.

Bean shoots for stir fry/salads take about 4 days in my hot season....water in twice a day....no Light Needed...just about the time a child wants to wait for something to grow....:watering:
