Flouro induction ,400w.
It's not perfect, but I like it .

Yeah, well LED's are a lot better and well im sure your ligts puts off heat as well right..lol.. Your light must be a waste because regardless of what lights u use U always need a fan for cooler temps

Following up on my search for a set of new LED lights: If you go to Aliexpress and type in "Apollo 4" or "Apollo 6" you'll see other manufacturers carrying lights that look identical to the Cidly's but a good deal less. The specs are the same (although incomplete) so I asked a couple sales reps what the difference was. They said that their lights were, in fact, Cidly lights and that they are wholesale distributors.

Not sure I believe that. In fact, I doubt it. But I wouldn't be shocked if it were true either. I was quoted by Dennis Yang of this company for (2) Cidly Apollo 6s with customized light specturm for $427.50 with free delivery. That's a screaming deal or a total scam job. I have no idea. I'm going to call Cidly directly and find out. Will let the thread know what they say. If true that's another $200 less off an already very good price.

Also, when I was inquiring about the integrated lights from Houyi lighting they said that they were coming out with the next generation integrated cup light this week. I'll give a heads up if they email me a notification. This is their current offering which a few growers have had a lot of success with:

Bysen is being very competitive with Cidly. Their Helios 210W is virtually the same price shipped as the Apollo 6 (with same customization). But looking at the specs, the Bysen would appear to be the better light. Better lens, more lights, same reputation. So I'm biding my time here till I have more answers. If I find out something new I'll give a heads up.

Ok. Enough writing. Time for a smoke :toke:

Cidly may actually be buying lights from another factory and selling them as their own; this is pretty common in China. It's impossible to tell without a factory visit!

What is certain, however, is that the LED grow light market is getting increasingly competitive, which benefits us, the growers. :)

Yes it does. Cidly already got back to me. They said they can't tell me if the company I cited works with them or not due to confidentiality agreements. Hmmmm.... The good news is that they just chopped the price from $209 per light to $165 to keep my business. And I didn't even haggle with them! Crazy....

Good stuff, keep messing with them and they may just give you the lights.

So, bottom line, have any conclusions been drawn as to the "best deal", and/or "best light" currently available, direct from manufacturers in China?
I've also seen the word "Co-op" thrown around occasionally on various threads; has that been formalised in any way?

No mate, because there's no clear answer who is the best.but there a a few good ones recommended in this thread if you read through and see what members say about dealing with manufacturers.
I'm not sure what you mean by has co-op been formalised in any way?

They (a lot I mean a lot of led co's) buy them LEDs manufactured in china and then sell them to you for three times the amount, it's common manufacturer distributor business practice & relationship....lol of course they don't want to admit to it...confidentiality...lls...but really tho it's like Nike and every single co, have products manufactured in China/Indonesia and distribute around the world with an atleast 250-300% profit margin...international business bruh bruh

I've seen LEDs on sites go for like1200 and I get a quote from the actual manufacture for 300 including shipping from china. They are robing use IMO

Yeah ... reading through all of the various "go direct" threads.
Was just hoping to short cut [cheat] by bringing it all together, in a summary.
[a.k.a. being lazy]

I'm not sure what you mean by has co-op been formalised in any way?
Sorry for the vagueness.
Meaning ... I have read a couple of references to a co-op situation, or someone running the notion of "buying power" if we all grouped together ... but just wondering if this has ever been taken further, and a buying group has been established, or the collective force of the members been used for purchasing leverage with any of these manufacturers.
It's a great idea in theory ... just asking if its ever progressed from conception to inception.
Given how many of us appear to be searching for LED's, and how many individual approaches seem to have been made, and the willingness of the manufaturers to price competitively ... a group deal could be a mighty fine idea!
