i am starting a new grow in a small area about 3.2 feet height 2.6 length and 2 feet wide. i am planing to put in 4x3gallon pots. As u can see height is my big problem due to this problem i cant go with hps. So i am checking alternative solutions. i am sure with 240w led it will have a better result but is my height enough for this light?
anyone knows which is the minimum distance i can put this light from my plants 3-4 inches will be enough ?

Led would be a good choice for this setup. Heat might be an issue with cfl in a space that small. And you can get the led as close as you want.

I have less height than you and I'm using a 150W hps, so I wouldn't rule it out completely, but if you have the money go with a good quality l.e.d. It will definitely make things a lot simpler and you should have no problem height wise, but I would still do some low stress training on them if I were you. I think it's a good thing to do anyway, but due to the lower light penetration of l.e.d it is even more beneficial and if you have height issues on top of that it will hit multiple birds with one stone.

is it sure that with the led near 2-3 inches from the top leafs and buds will not be burned?

No you don't want your LEDs that close, they will burn or bleach. 18-24 inches for veg 12-18 inches for flowering. :D

i had a similar grow using about 300 t5ho single fixtures watts with some cfl bulbs in a 4x2 foot high cabinet. i had the plants maybe 3 inches away with no burning i would recommend them +lst for ease. the grow is in my sig if youre interested.

nice grow. i will go with led and lst and will hope they dont get burned
