As I've been laid up from having hip replacement on may24th I will be staring up again in 2 weeks.

For a only growing 3 plants in 5 gallon buckets with no tent, which light is better mars 900 or black dog?

Need to stay in 350.00 to 400.00 range.

Have you researched COBS?

No man. Rather just buy complete set up with warranty. Just not sure which one. Last couplecgriws I used a borrowed SolarStare 440 with good results but the cost is much much than I want to spend

Anyone recommend an led for 2 to 3 plants in the 350 to 400 range?

I think you should look at cob lighting, like www.cobshop.net. They are good lights, small, not much weight, no noise and affordable.

Cobs have warranties mate. Even if the light is DIY the parts are still under warranty. And the bit most likely to go is the cob itself, which can be replaced for about 10 quid if you use citizens. I have made several lights and no part has failed yet.

If you're not using a tent then cobs with reflectors would probably do the job nicely. Whereas, in my humble opinion, a blurple led with no tent will be a bit like using candles for headlights on your car.

Good luck whatever direction you go in buddy

Hey brother we have several LED vendors on-site and multiple documented grow journals for them!

There's:
Amare (@AMARE-TECH-Vic)
Black Dog LED (@Black Dog LED ,)
Cirrus LED
COBshop.net (@BigSm0 )
GoGrow
GrowNorthern (@GrowNorthern )
Kind LED
Northern Grow Lights (@PhotonLabs )
Platinum LED (@PlatinumLEDTom )
Spectrum King
Tasty LED ( @Tasty )

I've tagged most if not all the vendors that have accounts on the site, they can help assist you as well if you have direct questions. Lots of journals here proving that both COBs and 3W/5W blurple style lighting can grow you amazing plants, so do a little research, let the journals and pictures help guide you and your wallet, and good luck my friend! Many of the vendors also offer discounts to AFN members, so feel free to PM them to see what they can help you out with!

Thank you son of Hobbs.

Welcome back to growing @Jackson
Hopefully the hips healing up nicely for you.

There is some good reading here at

https://www.autoflower.org/forums/cobshop-net.425/ Lots of vendors and lots of live testing going on. You came to the right place.

Wow. Love this site. Let the research begin. I will let you what I decide and if ok I'll ask you folks for opinion.

@epenguin taking a long time to heal. Loaded up on hydrocodone which helps. When I back off hurls like when did the pain actually subside?

When they did your surgery it was more like swinging hammers and saws drilling and bolts etc, there was nothing delicate about it. So, you will be massively swollen, bruised and generally in mucho paino.

You should notice that every day it gets a little better, the swelling is a little smaller and you will need a little less pain relief. But don't be afraid to take the medicine. That is what it is for. You wont get a habit. It is just until it heals my friend.

My advice is to not change your dressings yourself. Get a pro to do it. Better to not change it rather than feck about and give infection a chance to bollox it all up.

What date was your op ?
