Outdoor Late Bloomer Grow Journal

Here’s some updates.

The Chrystal Aurora Autos seem to be doing well in spite of the afternoon temperatures reaching 100°F/38°C+ from about 3pm until 7pm. I gave them a 1/2 dose of Armour Si and 1/4 dose FF Kelp You Kelp Me in 6.3 pH’d well water that has plenty of cal-mag in it naturally. I’ve been LSTing them to around 45° and they seem to be responding pretty well.

Here’s the original ILGM White Widow Auto I had. She really seems to be doing pretty well although she’s not as vigorous a grower as some of the other plants I have. She’s just older so, naturally, a bit bigger. She also has been getting the LST and she got the Kelp and Armour Si. I was worried she might have gotten burnt at first because there was some lightened spots on a few upper leaves but everything seems to be working itself out.

I brought my 2 “Super Dense Autos” from New420Guy seeds out of the indoor germ station and the 6500k flourescent bulbs and put them into 10 gallon bags yesterday. Since I’ve been having some issues that look like minor nute burn, I’m trying a different soil mixture in the bags. This time I used FF K9 soil as a base and added about 20% mushroom compost and another 20% Happy Frog along with some vermiculite, Sea Bird Guano, Mex Bat Guano and some water crystals to help deal with the heat. These are 2 of my favorite/most promising plants so far!

They germinated quickly and easily and have had ZERO issues. They’ve grown just like their name suggested they would. I had not made the ‘instatransplant’ pots quite right and had to cut the bottoms off and open the side slots up on one. The other pot didn’t fare well as I was trying to make the modifications and I ended up removing the pot completely and just doing a normal transplant. It worries me a bit but so far 30hrs later, there doesn’t seem to be any shock. So, I guess I got lucky. Lol!

I’m about to transplant another ILGM White Widow Auto into a bigger bag but when I pulled the outer pot off the instatransplant pot I found these weird balls on the roots. This plant has had some issues like malformed leaves and spots on the leaves so, before I actually transplant her, I need to find out what the deal is, for sure. I’ve been feeding mycorrhizae in the water - from a company called Wildroot - and I’m hoping that the balls are myco. If anyone can identify if this is normal and the roots are healthy, I’d sure appreciate it! I’ll be posting it in the infirmary as well, to try and make sure.

What do you think?

Here’s the ILGM Amnesia Haze at about 33 days. Still pretty small but she’s bushy and seems to be responding to the training with lots of bud sites. I’m hoping I’ll see some stretch here in the next month. I know nothing about autos, lol, but I’ve read how some strains will stretch during budding and I’m hoping (actually praying) that’s the case here.

Here are the Chrytal Aurora Autos at 26 days. I’ve had some yellowing with them. I wasn’t sure if it was due to nutrients or water or soil issues or plain old heat stress with highs at or above 100°F/38°C w/ RH around 40% and them getting full sun. So, I tried dosing one with 1/2 strength Armour Si (supposed to help with heat stress) and 1/4 strength Sea 90 a couple days ago. The one I dosed seems to be greening back up but the other wasn’t so I stuck her into partial shade. Now she’s improving some but I think I’ll dose her with the next watering and move her back to full sun. IF she shows signs of responding to the nutes.

Here’s the one that got dosed:

Here’s the one with more yellowing but this photo makes her look even more lime green than reality.

I’m DEFINITELY ready for the end of summer temperatures! My plants are too! In another few weeks we ought to stop hitting that 38°C/100° mark and it can’t come soon enough for me! Optimal temps for MJ will occur here in mid October. Lol
