Ok, I’m going to give this whole “grow journal” thing a shot! I’m going to call it the Late Bloomer Grow Journal for a variety of reasons that include me getting started really late in the summer. I popped the first seeds on July 24 and the last ones on Aug 2. It’s a mixed bag of Autos and a couple of photos that I just couldn’t resist - they were free seeds and I wanted to see what they’d do in our climate. I’m in a sunny Mediterranean type climate at 28.5°N

Originally I planned to focus on 2 strains from ILGM - White Widow Auto and Amnesia Haze Auto. However, the WW seeds I got were bunk and I could only get about 15% success rate on germination and I only popped a couple Amnesia Haze seeds. Well, I had some disasters (natural) outside with seedlings right off the bat and now I only have 2 Amnesia Haze seedlings lefft from that 1st batch. Then I have a variety of other babies I started a little later and have been keeping indoors under a 4’ T5 fixture with 4 bulbs. As they get older, I’ll transition them to the outside garden.

Here are the two Amnesia Haze plants - one much bigger and more vigorous than the other. Both popped the same day in the same way

Looking great so far!!

Here are 2 Chrystal Aurora Auto’s from New420Guy seeds. I popped them the first couple days of August and they quickly outgrew the solo supe I started them in. So, yesterday, I transferred them to 10 gallon bags with a mixture of FoxFarm soils. I used a trick I saw in another thread to cut the solo cup so that the transplant was all but completely stress free. These things look WAY better (to me) than the Amnesia Haze from ILGM! :/

My method: I cut the very bottom of the solo cup completely off. Then, I made 4 slits up the sides of the cup- almost all the way to the top. I prepared a hole in the soil in the grow bag and, using another solo cup, I formed a perfect hole for the transplant to go into. With the bottom of the cup removed, I gently set the cup with the plant in it into the hole. Then I took a pair of scissors and finished one of the slices in the side of the cup. This releases the cup and you can simply pull it straight up and out; leaving the plant perfectly in place. Gently push the soil from a few inches outside the transplant inwards, towards the plant, to close up any air gap between the transplant and the new soil. Water slightly with a root drench/stimulator in pH’d water and you’re done!! I’ll try to get some pix of the 2 ladies in their new homes when I get home tonight. Hope this helps someone! I love 912GreenSkell’s instatransplant method and I try to use it but I ran out of room and did a few seeds in Solo cups; so I needed a good solution for getting them into new homes.

@912GreenSkell

Here are some pictures of the 2 Chrystal Aurora Autos that I transplanted yesterday. Yesterday the leaves were all parallel to the ground but today they noticeable pointed upward. They look like they’re reaching for the sky! I’m guessing they still look ok? They did go from a T5 fixture 3” above them to a partially shaded spot outdoors. I’m hoping it’s normal but I’ve never seen plants to quite the same thing. Lol!

I tried a little LST training on my biggee Amnesia haze plant. Did I do it right? I used some small stakes that I had instead of actually tying the stem right now. I was afraid to try and bend her any more than this, day one. Just wanted to make sure I did it correctly.

@Waira @912GreenSkell Did I do the LST right?

I bent her over a bit more today and I wanna make sure I’m doing her right. She seems to be ok with it. Here are today pics:

Do you think this (below) girl is ready to start bending? Her (and her sister’s) stem is really stout! Way stouter than the Amnesia Haze I bent over above.

Looks great for a fairly extreme LSt! I dont tend to go quite so strong on outdoor plants, as i prefer to get a bit more space between the plant and the ground.
