Mephisto Genetics KiS Bio Char Mix Meets Mephisto

I just got EWC, no worms. Maybe some will hatch in time, but I am not adding any worms my first grow. I may try adding some to the second run. Want to see what happens as is. I will buy Red WIGGLERS if I do. I have seen mixed reviews on Uncle Jim's worm farm. If you all have a good source, let me know. I am getting the African Nightcrawler EWC because that is what Kis has. If you know of a better source, please share. Appreciate the help @Organic Sinse @MrOldBoy and @Roasty McToasty

You’ll be fine with the castings - Highest quality from KIS .....

For live worms use these guys ..... Family run operation - super quality worms .....

Plus you don’t want to ship any live worms until cooler weather is here!

Just got my delivery confirmation. I am not happy to say the least! I am paying $129 to ship 3 bags of soil and UPS has a delivery date of next Friday! WTF?! That is insane. I placed my order on this Thursday and it is going to arrive in 8 days for $129? I'm forced to wait, but that just pisses me off. I think UPS is using covered wagon and horses not something, because taking a week is longer than an order from China would take.

Soil goes ground- not air thus takes awhile from west coast ..... Sit back and smoke the BIG ONE no worries you’ll be up / going soon!

8 days is fast compared to up here. Ground shipping anything is via container ship. Just the barge section of the trip is 8 days from Seattle to ANC.

I am glad I don't have to wait that long usually. But you are a lot harder to reach than us.

That’s the big reason I make my own compost and leaf mold, shipping is expensive. If I ever need it though, I can get 3.8 cuft bails of premier peat for around $20-25. And 4 cu ft bags of perlite for under $15, both at Lowe’s. I use big bags of ‘Cowboy lump charcoal’ as bio char, also Lowe’s. Just smash it with the pickup truck, way cheap.

Simple - Plan according.

Yes but not everyone has the resources / land - Especially tough for city / apartment bound folks ....

And then there is the recipe and making sure beneficials and no pests in soil ......

Easy for organic garden guy but challenging for some .....

Buying has advantages but with that comes the shipping expense / cost.

It is definitely tricky if your in an apartment to deal with bales of peat and giant bags of perlite. Not to mention trying to explain why you are driving over bags of charcoal in the parking lot.

Good news Everyone! Got my Earthboxes today! Also, UPS has updated shipping to Thursday. So, I was surprised at the size of the Juniors. Not as big as I expected, which is fine. I am not sure how I will set this up , but will have a plan now that I know the exact size
