Hello AFN fam and fellow Grow&Show-ers, Im excited to kick this off. Gotta say thank you to @Antonio_DutchPassion for putting this on and @Mossy and everybody else at AFN who made this possible!!!for this contest I will be growing in a 2x2x4 grow tent, grow light is a Spider Farmer G3000 300w led bar light, exhaust is a Spider Farmer 4inch inline fan with 4inch booster at intake with 4inch carbon filter, i have 1x6inch clip fan and will add more if needed. I will be growing in 5gallon fabric pots filled with Fox Farm Happy Frog with about 20% Perlite mixed in and inoculated with Great White. For nutrients i will be running Fox Farm soil Trio, Bloom City Silica Boost, TPS Cal-Mag plus iron, and Blackstrap Molasses. I may add a PK booster during flower. I will start my seeds in Root Riot plugs with a pinch of Great White. Alright, whos ready??!! I just have to say how grateful and excited i am to be a part of this! Woooo!!! Lets get this started!!!

Germination
So to get these beans cooking, i soaked 2 of them in plain distilled water for 4hrs and planted them straight into Root Riot plugs that i split down the side for ease of use and sprinkled a pinch of Great White on the seeds. They were labeled and placed into an led lit humidity dome on the floor of another grow tent that is running 24hrs of light. They will stay there until they sprout and will be transplanted straight into their final homes. These were some tiny seeds, very cool! Dont mind that other plug, its something im germing for outdoor.

Hey Bro,
Don’t mean to screw up your plans but now would be the perfect time to run a 420autoflower SCROG. With a photoperiod you would be in full control over your veg cycle and have more time to work your plant.
I can help if you’re interested. :rolleyes1:

That was gonna be the plan for these ladies! I want to run 2 in 5 gallon fabric pots, train them under the screen and flip to 12/12 when i have a full canopy. Having the extra veg time will really make it worth the scrog!!! I appreciate your help, ill take all i can get!!! Im glad you came along for the ride!!!

With space to grow just 2 plants, having just 2 chances, I'd likely sprout and plant 3 seeds and cull 1 plant before space becomes an issue. This increases your likelihood of success.
Sometimes ill germ extras but ive been having really good results with germination lately and i dont like throwing away good seeds/plants. Thank you tho.

But keep in mind, starting and culling a few extra seeds is probably the best, the most cost effective way to increase productivity! Seeds are cheap, their costs trivial in the Big Picture. Even if costing say $20 each, compare that to expending a grow's worth of electricity, effort and valuable tent space on a lesser-productive or problem plant.

I usually start a few extra beans, my goal was 1-2 plants so I started with two giving myself one extra chance incase i screwed something up. I get what youre saying and it totally makes sense. So when i go to start say 6 plants which is my legal limit so thats what i run, I usually start 8-9 seeds to guarantee i get my desired numbers. The cost is not an issue, i see down time as a bigger problem.

I also usually have homes for any extra plants that come up anyway. I was raised being taught firmly “waste not, want not!” So lately ive been potting up the extra seeds and gifting them to friends and family and everybody loves free weed so its never hard to find homes lol.

Day1
Woke up today and took my time heading back to my place, when i arrived Both Lemon Z were sprouted from the plugs and had taproots coming out the bottom of the plugs! I potted each up in a 5gal fabric pot with Fox Farm Happy Frog and about 20%Perlite added in, inoculated with Great White again!!! They look good in their new home!!!! Lets get this G&S going!!!❤️🙏🌱
