Hey all! Allow me to reintroduce myself. I've been a mainly outdoor photoperiod grower in Holland for more than 25 years now but I had to lay low for a few years until certain aspects of my life moved out. Well, all I can say is let the games begin. I'm hoping to get back in touch with some of my old friends on here too!
Enough about my boring old self though! As I only have a balcony in the sun nowadays instead of my big secluded back yard I'll be growing some of the newest Dutch Passion autofems. So this wont be a race for the biggest yields but more a test to see which autofems flourish outside in a fairly northern climate.
This is the list of candidates:
-Auto Night Queen
-Auto Daiquiri Lime 3X
-Auto Compassion Lime
-Auto Cinderella Jack
-Auto GlueBerry OG 2X
Now, I must admit that I made a rookie mistake two weeks ago by trusting my standard cutting and seedling potting mix (Zaai en Stekgrond) which I've used for over a decade to my fullest satisfaction. The mixture was taken over by the commercial Dutch brand Pokon. This has been detrimental to my first batch of seeds! After germination the seedlings simply stopped growing. I was shocked to say the least as I'm usually 10 for 10 with Dutch Passion seeds. So I took some measurements of the potting mixture which after 5 days at 23 degrees Celsius smelled of ammonia. The EC of the drip off was a staggering 7.6 at a Ph of 8.5!!! So I started over with the remaining seeds and I used inert coco coir as a germination medium. I had the first seeds pop the surface after 48hrs. This is more like I'm used to with Dutch Passion! Kudos!!!
So now the girls are at day 7 and rearing to go! I thought this would be a nice point to start this thread. I took some pictures with my phone and now I'm figuring out how to get them on my laptop and subsequently on this forum right side up... Lolz.

Now for the technical stuff... I gave the seeds a 24hr dunk in soft tapwater and then I planted them in their individual pots. All taproots were peeking out of the seeds after the dunk. Very enthusiastic seeds I must say! I havent given any additives as of yet. I'll be transplanting them as soon as i can lift the root ball out of the pots safely. I'm gonna use 10l square pots which I already had. I'll run them through the dishwasher to sterilize them. But more on that later.
Please feel free to chime in and share your thoughts with me? I hope to have a lot of fun with y'all this summer!
Sincerely, Ken357

Hey Tony! How've you been? Jouke already added to the fun! Lol! I'm so happy to be able to showcase a few DP autofems this year. Let's keep our fingers crossed for good weather! I'll try to do a second run around the middle of July as these reach the finish line. I saw Auto Ultimate and Auto Cinderella Jack went on sale so I'll jump on those as soon as my paycheck comes in. But for now, as a Sativa lover I'm really looking forward to tasting the Auto Daiquiri Lime. The name alone is so appealing!
It's good hearing from you again! Let's keep in touch? Cheers buddy!

Just a quick update from the front lines...
I gave the girls a little drink today with a quarter strength mixture of excellurator root stimulator. They're out in the sun now and enjoying the drink.
My Auto Cinderella Jack started off in my windowsill and stretched like crazy so she's in scaffolding as you can see. I expect her to be able to stand on her own soon because it's fairly windy atm which should boost cellulose production in the stem.

Hey good luck with your grow let's hope the weather stays on your side! I'll follow along on your journey.. Great pick of strains! Definitely interested in seeing how the Auto Compassion Lime goes I just got some in the mail and I might do an outdoor grow myself. :greenthumb:

Thanks JellyO! I've got my fingers crossed constantly! I'll put up some pics in a few. The 3 auto daiquiri limes are doing great! As are the others btw but I'm very interested in this particular strain. I can't wait for the first internode so I can rub the stems for a first impression of the smell.

Here's a couple of pics for you all. The illegible container is auto CBD Compassion Lime. My handwriting... Lol!
Anyway, they're looking at another very sunny day 31°C. Hopefully it's not too hot because I have to go to work in a few. So I gave them an extra drink of tap water. No nutes etc yet. I might transplant them to the final containers tomorrow. I wanna get that done ASAP as they're autos.
TTYL! Off to work I go. [emoji26]

OK people! What's up with the weather? Last week I almost boiled my girls in scorching 35°C (95°F) and now it's merely 17° C with heavy rains and wind gusts... I've had the girls inside on my windowsill since yesterday. I hope they postpone flowering for a week or two because they still have some serious growing to do.

Lekker..... Springs to mind

What kind of final potsize and feed do you have in store for them?

Good luck with the weather outside, I'm sweltering with 35 c inside everyday in the same neck of the woods as you....doesn't seem to bother any DP strains I've grown, sativa leaning plants seem to thrive hot, up to 43 c sometimes with no noticeable detrimental effects.

Growing on a balcony..... Hmmmm, crazy strong wind gusts sometimes, watch out.... Some of those strains will develop very decent sized mainsails and spinnakers indeed..... If allowed to....
